I don't like to sound judgemental, but i think what has kept us behind the closing doors is the reflection of illusive dreams from Achaemenid dynasty (6000 years ago) and/or other kinds of false beliefs such as "Iranians=Germans" and so on.

In my opinion, our nation needs to learn & improve their skills, rather than sitting back & enjoying daydreams of yesterday. We should stay well-back from illusion and keep up with today's pace, since every other nation is tremendously moving ahead.

@azerogli you make a good point, and i think the shah was fully aware of this. i just wish he would have allowed more civil rights throughout the country, but just look at the progress made by the shah, and on top of that he set time for acknowledging our amazing history.

@azerogli thats what i liked about the shah more than anything. before the revolution iran had the strongest military in the middle east, and now look at us. after an islamic revolution which didn't even allow the acknowledgement of the achaemenid orrr sassanid dynasty of iran, iran now doesnt even have an army! its all hezbollah and basij. its very sad, thus, for u to quesiton the validity of irans rich history is taking away the only thing weve ever had.
