  • this looks like the stuff that disney uses and that some of the newer 3d animes use

  • Or even better: look on forums and get it for free.....paying for this program is only good if you are ACTUALLY in the business. If you are just drawing in you free time, it is better to just get it free. But at the same time if you are actually in the business, the company you work for gives it to you for free anyway.....

  • Admittedly, getting something for free if you're only a hobbyist seems like a good idea, but honestly, the principle really does count here.

Sure you can say "If I didn't get it for free, I would never have got it", maybe that's true. But for some people at least, if they hadn't got it for free, they would have paid in the end.

If no-one pays for software, then it doesn't make any money, and thus no work put into it. Maybe you're okay with that, I just think as a principle, paying is good.

  • @jotoonkid lol I was never giving that impression......I wasn't saying you should get everything free...I whole heartedly beleive in paying for things but in regards to this, just think of it this way, if you like racing as a hobby is it really smart to go out and buy a suped up race car? NO it isnt you will either rent a race car and drive on a track or get the experience with an admition at some park. Same goes for drawing programs. Its better to pay for things like this with some benefit.

  • I thought your reaction might me something like this :D

I know that most programms aren't designed with under 18s in mind. They are designed for companies, and people who do this kind of thing seriously. If someone just wants to do it as a hobby, especially a young persons with no job or money, it can be very difficult.

That is probably why a lot of young people see piracy as fine, and I have heard "Well if I didn't have it, I would never have bought it" soooo many times.

  • @jotoonkid LoL then you are, in some way, seeing my point. I was never saying that you shouldn't pay for this software. It is an awesome tool for the business and most ppl that pirate the program end up paying for it later on anyway. But telling everyone to go out and buy this software is just kinda one sided. Because those trials are just bull and dont really alow you to get the full feel of the programs (well most of the trials, some warrant a buy but most limit you so much you disregard it)

  • @jotoonkid

did you do all the character in just one layer?

  • @jotoonkid Hi, yeah I've bought software before that I had pirated in the past. There's actual articles to prove Silkyskeeter's POINT that allowing people to sample things before hand gives them a good idea of whether or not to purchase a product. And why wouldn't it be? People should stop seeing piracy as stealing and see it as a form of free advertising. If people d/l this program, and they decide they're not going to buy it, it's because they probably don't like the program.

  • @BigBroiswatchin77 To be honest, I've grown up using computers since I was little, and as part of my growing up, downloading music, burning copies of games, and looking up serial codes for software was just something that I did.

With the original AS, Moho, I got the serial code for that for free, and then AS for free too. But then someone actually bought it for me, so these tutorials are using a legal copy. Whatever my personal opinion, I'm not gonna endorse piracy

  • @silkyskeeter Obviously you'd rent, because a race car would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds, and isn't street legal. This programme is cheap, and is practical to use in a home which most people have, however not many people have a racetrack. Also the nature of making cartoons as a hobby, is that you settle down and do it comfortably in your home regularly, wheras race-car driving is a thrill seeking activity that most would rather do once in a while. Your point is retarded in other words.

  • @ishmael1991 LoL that comment is a year old and you completely missed the point, eitherway. for the love of god comment accordingly to comments.

  • @silkyskeeter Alright, i thought based on that comment that you were one of those uncreative 'money is everything' type people. Guess i just jumped to a conclusion because after checking your page you don't seem like that type. Peace

  • @silkyskeeter Why don't you rob a few pensioners while you're at it ya crook. It's cheap to buy, so you must be really tight.

  • k thanks for the help.

  • will this tutorial also work with the non pro one??

  • Some features may not, like rendering, but the drawing should be fine.

  • k. so am i better off with the pro one if im trying to make stuff like this?

  • The non-pro version is just the pro version with some important features taken out, such as rendering. You're better off in EVERY way apart from financially by having the pro version.

If anyone wants to use anime studio for serious, they need pro. I really think that debut is like a $50 demo. I think the free 30 day demo for pro is better than debut, but it only lasts 30 days.

  • so should i get pro 6 or pro 5? because i dont want to get pro 6 if it would be more complicated to learn, or is it just like pro 5 but with more features? sry if my questions r annoying..lol just dont want to waiste my money on sumthing that i wont understand.

  • You should get 6. Honestly, its more of a waste of money to buy an old version, even if the new one takes some time to learn.

Unless you can get 5 real cheap, in which case, go for it!

  • Thank you.....I finally found a video to put me to sleep!!!

  • Good, insomnia is a rising problem in this modern day.

  • cant u draw with a tablet? isn't it easier?

  • I don't find it easier, perhaps I am just out of practice...

  • if you can draw a little, buy your own drawing tablet! the most anime pros use it

  • I have got a tablet, I am just rubbish at using it.

  • the face is kinda creepy...buuuut, the vid helped thnx!

  • Okay, well during tutorial month, there are going to be 2 or 3 videos on how to make your own anime character, which will probably be something like this, on steroids.

  • YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you for your great tutorials. You really helped me get started with this program. Good luck

  • Good luck yourself!

  • man you rock

i subbed and i hope you get partnered

keep this up and you will

  • Very useful video!

  • how do you 'rub out'

  • Anime Studio is not a paint package, you make shapes with vectors, rather than pixels, so there is no 'rubbing out'. Sorry 'bout that!

  • I just got this program last night...well actually about 3:00 this morning. This is a good, basic tutorial. I suggest covering the line width l as well in the next video, it's a good tool.

  • Does the basic animae studio allow you to draw backgrounds?

  • Yeah, you can just do it on a different layer, or the same one... Assuming you have layers.

Anyway, I can cover that in one of the next tutorials.

  • nice vid but you should give the link to your next video in the discription to make it easier to find

  • The next tutorial dosent exist yet, but it will soon.

  • dude, wen is that new vid coming... i had trouble in the coloring part.

  • I will try to get it up tomorrow!

  • Very educationumal.
