@manwarcow No, If you listen to Everything Went Numb, it doesn't sound Latin. Listen to We Will Fall together, and it almost has a Latin feel and sound to it. it's still a good album, it just has more of a latin sound than other stuff...
streetlight manifesto is amazing, im 15 and i've been listening to them for 5 years, they're music is so real and has so much meaning, its so much better then any music we have now. they're one of the greatest bands in the world
This song shows so much symbolism that I do agree with ska4ever762 that the songs that do not deserve such attention unfortunately are given so. This song is one of the better songs in the world at the moment, the song should tell all of you what you should not do when you have a relationship because it shows how he got screwed over.
@LittleSam14 their lyrics have always been pretty depressing, but you're right, the're not quite as upbeat as they used to be. Thats not necessarily a bad thing though, because misery often results in the best music.
@987657654321 i wasn't specifying about their lyrics. i was kinda just talking about the 'upbeatness?' of it (i suck at words). i actually like the lyrics, they have meaning!! about time something good was made. instead of this "rara olala, rama ramama, gaga, olala" bunch of bollocks.
also, misery has alot of emotion in it which is fantastic!! :D
This is the best band ever. This is the one of the band's best songs. The only reasonable logic that adds up is that this is one of the best songs in the world. How can a band be SO AWESOME!?
Sorry if it is or not obvious but my english is not that good.... can anyone tell me who he is referring to when he says: That motherfucker he took everything we had
It appears to me that Tom(the singer an narrator of the song) was in a relationship with someone called Marigold and she went off with another guy. So the "we" is the narrator of the song and Marigold, and the "he" is the one she went off.
This is just my interpretation of the song so could be wrong but hope it helped at all :)
:P thx but im still a bit lost that motherfucker would be someone we just dont know? like leaving it blank for our imagination? and the writer keeping it personal?
@CCSUCaboose whats with the hate for emo? also please never use that word ever again because at this point i don't think anyone (including myself) actually knows what it means anymore
@CCSUCaboose Do you, or have you ever listened to Catch 22? Like a lot of people fight over who's better but they're also exactly like your comment, just a lot less professional sounding! You have the right idea about music!
@MegaPictureShow I've tried listening to post-Kalnoky Catch 22, and they really aren't that great anymore. They're OK, but the vocals suck and the songs just aren't as catchy as Streetlight's.
@Valkodu haha i only listen to kalnoky catch 22. his voice is amazing. streetlight songs make me think and have deep feelings but kalnocky ctach 22 makes me just want to dance :)

@Valkodu haha i only listen to kalnoky catch 22. his voice is amazing. streetlight songs make me think and have deep feelings but kalnocky ctach 22 makes me just want to dance :)
@ManOutsideYourWindow my thoughts exactly. Before I had heard them all, every time a song ended and a new one started I thought "No, this is my new favorite one"
This song is pure awsome, all of you who think rap is crap, your totally right! No one gives a care for Ska but it's the third wave, and nothings going to stop us now!
wow, its bull that geniuses like tom kalnoky has 21 coments on this amazing song, but the worst song ever (solja boy, ick...) has leterally millions of coments...... wow... i hate rap, lol
Ya know, Kalnoky has publicly said that his first love is for visual art. A lot of people seem to comment on Streetlight's relative obscurity, but I'm pretty sure it's just a side thing for him. Which is even more respectable in a way ya know?
but i mean ska kinda came from rap you know? i mean ska in its purest form is like a reggae crossover which is technically a type of hip hop/rap and that said, Streetlight manifesto is a great punk-ska band with occasional real ska stuff. for example Point/counterpoint definitely has its moments
@Demondean17 ok obviously i have been misunderstood
i don't really like all rap nor do i listen to it, especially if it is mainstream "media bullshit with a beat" there's some good stuff out there though and if you think you don't like it i encourage you to go listen to a large sampling of raphiphop(but listen to stuff that's off the beaten trail) there's bound to be something interesting. plus you cannot deny the similarities in conventional rap and reggae, which was kinda my original point.
@Jonahfishfighter i was less looking for an defensive response and more angrily prompting to learn about the roots of ska. Rap is just lyrics without a tune and I don't hate it at all. Just the vast majority of it lol. But many ska bands use rap and I recognize your point, but also urge you to learn about the Rude Boy/Mod culture of ska in the first wave and 2 tone.
@Demondean17 i mean yeah sure dog.. i live and learn haha, but like one really has to know a lot about music before they can say that they hate anything as broad as an entire genre of music, thats just fucking ridiculous... i mean pop music, the Beatles were a pop band/(are considered today at least) to have been a pop band, but that particular genre is sooo different today and people definitely have preconceived notions about it. i like how this conv has like months apart between comments haha
@d3for3 he did. it was originally by the band Catch 22, which was tom's band before streetlight. he wrote all the songs for Keasby which is why he was able to cover them all
omg, streetlight is by far my favorite band. tom kalnoky is a genius, and i like every song he makes in streetlight. this is my favorite song i think tho...
yeah, kalnoky is an amazing songwriter. I mean, there are better guitar players, and plenty of professional players who could play the horn parts but I don't think Tomas has wrote a bad song. He can touch your heart, make you dance, and simply smile in the same song.
Wow, my comment is number 5. People have no appreciation for good music. How much you wanna bet that "Lil' Wayne" has like 17,000+ comments, that talentless bastard. Too bad Tomas Kalnoky, who has so much, has a video with 4(well 5 now).
