just get a coated ambassador for your bass drum it will sound about the same. i know many jazz players use an ambassador, but it will ring a lot. a powerstroke 3 is best on a bass drum, no muffling needed....

even though ringo starr was an entry level drummer. i do love the remo products though. Powersonic bass head, is the best in the world.
