This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember wearing out my first 45 RPM copy, and had to buy another. I think it was not a smash hit because (1) It was too long in an era when 2 minute songs ruled and (2) black artists did not get the air play they deserved. What do you think?

this the type of music that will live for a long time to come, this is the song that put louisiana on the map for swamp pop music, also made louisiana famous for it's blend of cajun french,blues,country,swamp pop,r&b music. but it's cookie and the cupcakes that made people proud to be born in louisiana. i like this mathilda because it brings back good memories of girls you liked in school.
