  • Wow, I have always been interested in Louisiana culture, including music and how the people live there. I listened to this out of sheer curiosity, and it really wasnt that bad, i actually like it. I guess in this case, curiosity didnt kill the cat. >.<

  • i was born and raised in south louisiana and grew up on this music , there is none no better ,

  • This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I remember wearing out my first 45 RPM copy, and had to buy another. I think it was not a smash hit because (1) It was too long in an era when 2 minute songs ruled and (2) black artists did not get the air play they deserved. What do you think?

  • this the type of music that will live for a long time to come, this is the song that put louisiana on the map for swamp pop music, also made louisiana famous for it's blend of cajun french, blues, country, swamp pop,r&b music. but it's cookie and the cupcakes that made people proud to be born in louisiana. i like this mathilda because it brings back good memories of girls you liked in school.
