yes bambala it is a popular problem, the only way to fix is bring back game and don't move xbox while disc is in. (same thing happened to me).

Dude, think I can help. My 360 has the same retarded problem, it will open and close by its self. ANyway, to fix the problem try putting the xbox in the up-right position where it "stands". Then put a disc in and close it, it will work fine, at least for me. Did I help?

Well I tried that with the xbox in the video (the OLD one), my new one that got repaired almost exactly a year ago is starting to act up, and the disc drive REFUSES to open the disc tray when it's in the upright position. I have to put it horizontally, press the button, then push up on the tray cover for it to get open. Very annoying.

to help the system not overheat keep it in an isolated space away from other objects like dont keep the thing right next to your tv also hang the power brick wire over a table so the power brick is just hanging in the air it may look funny but the power brick on the floor just adds extra heat

PS3 Sucks Penis....btw id had a similar problem and the xbox 360s disc tray in mine wont fuckien open no matter wat. It reboots after a few minutes after i first turn it on and then the disc tray dosent fucken open.. i hear some whirr noises a few minutes later but it dosent fucken open... restarting it makes it worse as the disc tray then wont whirr. Ive sent it to the repair center and the problem is still happening...can sum1 help me?

Dude. Its your disk drive. There is a problem with the samsung disk drive they put in some of the older xboxs. It happened to me and I just turned it into best buy and got my 400$ back. Thanks warranties!

Anybody want a correct answer for why this is happening and a solution for the problem? It has nothing to do with when you bought your 360, it's not the faceplate, it is the drive itself. This problem is common among Samsung drives (what you have). The motor belts used in some Samsung drives are not small enough and therefore the motor slips and two things can happen:
