The "Volt" is a compromise to the oil industry. The EV-1 was way ahead of it's time, conceived by engineers while GM brass was drunk on lard ass SUV's. Mind you the abilities of this car were incredible and that was over 15 years ago! It's ironic that the volt won Motor Trend's (the Charley McCarthy of Detroit, or what's left of it) ca of the year award 40 years after another POS by GM: The Vega!!.

I  just test drove the Chevy Volt two weeks ago.. Pretty amazing!!!!
