  • Who's the idiot that decided the car needed to be drowned out by lame music?

The car itself = WOW! Way fun toy:-)

  • cool video looks unreal. only loose that sound trake. the engines should be the sound track

  • Handles like a fuckin jelly sounds well but needs to rev the fucker.

  • That looks about as unstable as my wife :)

  • wow.

  • could of put the steering wheel on straight...

  • Not as good as a haysbusa single RWD mini nor as fast, to heavy

  • @lickamish

zcars make the hayabusa for minis aswell however this would be faster and the fact its a metal shell rather then a fiberglass shell over a spaceframe actually makes it a car not a kit.

  • @MrOlireeves that space frame your on about is actually a roll cage it protects the passengers from rolls and also helps to stiffen the chassis, which is desirable in racing, and u expect me to belive this would be faster round a track then a hayabusa mini with all that weight ? not to mention these cars arnt actually in production meaning they arnt exactly ALL built the same, thick as custard !

  • @lickamish i know what a space frame is i make them for a living. Im talking about the body work that fits over the space frame & comes off as 1 rather then panels. Im also saying the hayabusa minis r more kit cars where this car is all original metal. twin R1 engines have a greater power to weight ratio then the hayabusa minis & theres two this R1 engined mini wil be faster.

  • @MrOlireevesmeh u can actually seen the weight shifting as he corners. loadsa cash - hayabusa, restrained realism - R1.

  • Respond to this video... i wouldnt bother with the bike engine. they rev too high, too loud, have to be rear mounted & have no reverse which is pointless. Vtech minis r a lot nicer & controlled plus you get the fifth gear to allow cruising at high speeds

  • @MrOlireeves 1) Bike engines don't have to be rear mounted. There are loads of cars shown here on yt with the engine in the front.

    2) Reverse can be achieved through the use of a seperate gearbox and a second lever to engage it when stopped. It really is simple.

    3) How can a vtec be more controlled? Have you ever used a motorcyle engine? You have no idea just how responsive they are at just about any revs.

    4) Bikes have six gears. Motorway speeds = low rpm.

  • y dont u put a removeable lock on the lever or adjustable?

  • "The engine sounds awesome so we put music on it so you cant hear it LooL!"

  • How about a Heyabusa engine with a big bore racing kit and a turbo?

  • Unbelievable R1s are the best great job...

  • what parts of the body do you have to strengthen when doing and r1 project? surely the body get stress cracks?

  • This thing would be fast and have insane handling if one or both engines were up front to put more weight on those front wheels...

  • wouldn't it have been cooler to have one engine power the front wheels, and one power the rear?

  • @LolGurrl91 I was just thinking that. It would be awesome. And I think on Youtube somewhere there is one. And while we at it, lets chuck a turbo on each engine :-)

  • @LolGurrl91, Have to get the speed of each wheels to time right otherwise the front and rear wheels will be spinning at different times.

  • I may be way off here, but to me a z car is a Datsun.

  • so sick!

  • but whats the 0-60

  • @ TimZZR2 yeah it would, got zcars rollcage in it ect.. loads was bought from zcars anyway.

  • i would donate my left testicle to charity to own this car :)

  • Imagine the face of people unloading their porsche, lambos or track car and then spot you drive up in this mini.

now imagine their face when it runs circles around their +100k euro cars

  • wonder how much his mum paid for that

  • 4:53 why is the wheel so off

  • how much does it cost to have zcars put a bike engine in it?

  • @myPETsnailFRED

about 5350 pounds for the 1 engine kit, not including the engine 3252 more for the engine.

k20 kit costs 5400 and 2000 with the engine (although it goes up a bit if u want Zcars 260bhp version of it).

just google zcars, takes you right to their website

  • You gotta admire the engineering, I couldn't do it, but 'she a bit light in the front end, eh bro?'

  • basic idea for mini's with bike engines in is to make them light as poss as cars are heavy, I'm buiding a zcar mini with turbo, got to make light as poss running fiberglass shell and that, slammed car to floor. ect.... lots to do on it! loads spent for it.

  • @minimotocrosserracer Ur building a zcar mini? if your building it, it wouldn't be a zcar mini would it

  • front end looks too light, cocking a front wheel up means only one steering front tyre on the ground. it looks quick like but it could be improved for cornering.

  • why not have one engine in the front and the other in the back so it will have awd and better weight ditribution. and wouldnt it be lighter to have one v8 instead of two 4 cyclinders.

  • A V8 would be heavier but I think putting 2 1300cc busa engines in there would be awesome! 1 in the front & 1 back & make it AWD!

  • @Madacko

Superfastmini's(minitec) do an awd vtec frame.

Bit pointless in a mini cos the wheelbase is so short anyway. You can see how this one is lifting the front quite nicely.

  • he should have put a removable pin in the gear sticks so you couldnt fuck the changes up if you tried

  • Sir Alec Issigonis would have never imagined the weird creatures that will be created based on his original design.

  • z cars, as standard (don't know with a "special" like this), fit a starter motor to act as a reverse gear. i might be wrong but i 'think' a 4 wheeled vehicle has to have a reverse gear to be road legal.....

z cars are good engineers but 99% of the other work is subbed out, the rear suspension and tuning/setting up is done by a guy in ireland (used to be bradford) called jack frost, who held the land speed record on a motorbike a few years back....

  • i do like me minis but this aint to my taste mg 1275 engine and a whole lotta fibreglass ftw

  • i wanna know how the mesh box works

  • @MIXMASTAPWN

Well, ne needs to make a RACE lever which he fits over the stock levers to merge them into one. Then when he wants only one engine, take off the race lever and use them individually.

  • Put it on top gear!!!!!!!!!!!!

    x

  • if you go on a longish run in car you can just use one engine which makes it less noisy, uses less fuel and inside car gets les heat from one ,but you only use one lever,so no good welding them together, (owner)

  • I'd prefer this without the annoying music. Especially when he points out the engine sound. Spoils the video :(

  • y dont they just weld the gear levers together?

  • its about time the stig had his hands on it to see what it can really do!!

  • can i ask but i was wondering but how does the drive wrok? and is there reverse?

  • My dads mini was doing the quarter in under 9sec back in 1978. Why spend so much money on something that looks horrid when you can get the same effect with a bored block, ported heads and carb from a old rover V6? Mind you stopping it was a different matter until he installed brake servo's, he nearly killed his first wife after taking off at 140mph.

  • Cos this will still go round corners as it is a hell of a lot lighter.

  • really so your dads mini back in 1978 could do a quarter mile faster than a r1? i dont think so matey

  • @stykyun ... so, you're saying your dad's mini was faster that a mclaren F1?? (11.6 sec)

perhaps your dad has been telling you fairy stories.....

  • i want it ! :-|

  • can i ask every1 what is so good about z cars, they make these conversions but so does every1 else, probably to a better standard as well, also they brag abvout there cars saying they are the worlds fastest mini's when there no where near, you have meady runnin9.4-7 and cyclone motorsports running9.9 and they only run 10's

  • Beautiful! Looks fun and twitchy as all hell.

  • z cars conversion will cost £10k+

  • Must.... have....

How much will a custom Z car cost you?

  • This is the greatest thing I've ever seen.

  • Some have GOAP, get out and push ;)

  • why does he bother having number plates on it. the law says no car with 2 engnes is allowed on the road, dont ask why, some other crap law theyve made up.

  • Uhmmm did you ACTUALLY watch the video??? it says its road legal......watch it before you comment...stupid

  • obviously did watch it (stupid thing to ask)

thats because he would only use 1 engine on the road, while the other one is off, and also why he hasnt made the twin gear shifter into 1 fixed stick. and i would appreceate it if you didnt call me stupid.

  • who cares bout reverse man its a badass ride to have you d b kickin vipers lambos vettes and all the exotic cars asses even give em a head start an still whoop on em

  • beasttt

  • WTF? street legal , i doubt in u.s. who the hell would insure this thing. Insurance on a motorcycle alone is expensive.Looks like a blast though.

  • In the US, insurance covers what the VIN # shows.. So in America, this would be registered as a regular mini cooper. They might make a big deal about the roll cage as it is normally deemed a "racing" modification, but otherwise, it doesnt matter what modifications you have.

  • insurance on a bike is cheap as hell. I, 21, can get a Harley night rod edition insured for $98 a month. A hayabusa for $85

  • Not that cheap still over a $1000 dolars for the year.

  • sorry, i know what i play. You may have a high ass rate but here in TX bike insurance is cheap as hell. When i was 16 it was expensive - 190 a month, but not anymore

  • I don't understand your point...

  • where i live motorcyles do not have to be insured at all...

  • gota say im in to my 4x4s, but if i was to fet a car, i would get one of these, !!! i love these cars, i live in thurnscoe so will keep an eye out and as for a spin in the passenger seat lol.

  • jeje me pido un pa reyes

  • its an engine bill. But not aswe know it...

  • zcars hu built da car make their own gear boxs so there is a reverse gear

  • im guessing the car has no reverse gear so not very practical even though road legal still a sweet car i wanna do this myself gonna start looking for a mini now lol

  • the car has a reverse gear! and is out and about on the streets of barnsley!

  • i live in barnsley!!!! YAY!

  • Think it has an electric reverse gear

  • this car has reverse ive seen it today at barnsley bike show look at my vid ......it is awesome when your at the side of it sounds mint got to say also the man who now ownes it made it look better than on this vid

  • gordon bennet bill!

  • Space suit!...

  • What the fuck was that guy wearing?????

  • class car but what a boring video!

  • what about the specs of this mini?0-100 lets say and top speed????

  • Love how the voiceover says, "Listen to those engines," while blabbing on and cranking up the mindless pop-beat music. LET US HEAR THE CAR!!!

  • Nurburgring lap please !

Put all those "super" cars to shame.

  • sweeeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if thats two r1's bolted togetherdoes that mean its a flat 8?

  • you gotter dude...thats some mean power

  • nah

its 2 r1 engines and gearboxes side by side

  • whoever owns this should get it in top gear lol

get it round the track and see where it comes against the supercars

  • that front wheel only lifting of round corner cuz not a nuff rear anti roll bar stifnuss lol so cud b faster round the bends

  • i cant believe that comentator lol!

  • he sounds like he doesnt know what to say so keeps talking a load of pants

  • i agree, cos u cant almost hear the engines working independinly

yer right like u have a trained hear to hear that

and i didnt know pulling the lever went up a gearbox, sure its a gear!

and it wouldnt matter if one box was on 5 and the other in 4 of corse unless you were changing up a gear at the wrong revs

if i owned the car id have a stiffer rear arb

and that guy sounded like it wernt even his like

    hed never drivin it before

and why did they give him the option to change one thing,

  • wow street legal

i want one of those :D

  • the Narrator sounds like a fucking tosser.

  • Actually it sounds like Tiff Needell, and he fucking owns.

  • no dice mate, he gets on ma nerves. Fucking sweet mini though, pretty clever of them to put twin R1 engines in, that work as individual units.

  • That's not Tiff!

  • i assume that this car have way too soft suspenshion setup in order to compensate great power from both engine...

-envy the driver can enjoy the xcitement..

  • one would have been enough

  • Function before form and so I think it looks nice.

  • fuckin piece of shit he almost flips every turn.

  • dude your a fuckin moron, that car is bad as hell.. dont act like a dick cause you cant have one like it

  • The driver in this clip isn't very good. He couldn't drive smoothly to save his life, good job it wasn't wet or he'd have spun it on every corner. Didn't sound like he was heel and toeing either

  • the driver is Bill Sollis who has been Mini Miglia chapion a number of years so he is very good

  • why doesnt he just weld both the gear sticks together?

  • exactly, why not just use one lever?

It makes no since to me to have them separate.

I could see an issue if one was to get out of sync, it would take some linkage removal. But that would be more probable with two levers than with one.

    Odd

  • I should imagine its cos if one engine failed and you need the other one to get you "home"?

A flick-catch holding them together would do the job just fine i'd think..

  • maybe not weld, but some form of latch, or lock...so that when need be he can change them individually.

  • WOW MAMMA!

  • exactly the same boat i was in when i purchased my 1985 austin mini. looked beautiful, sanded it down, and found it was a wreck. put so much money into it, and now its beautiful, however, still costing me money

  • What a hoot. That would just be a blast to drive. Who cares what it looks like, its just awesome.

  • dont get me wrong i love this car to bits but a comment recently said you can run one of these engines indepentantly. i am curious, as i have always thought superbikes dont really like to freewheel un assisted(ie dont like to be pushed far) i cant imagine it doing the engine any good please reply as i would like to knw thanks

  • You can probably run one with the other OFF.

  • no.

  • The gear levers are seperate so there is the option to run only one engine, this things road legal and I doubt the guys gona use both engines just for cruising round the streets or down to the local shops...0_o

  • my question is why dont they make the 2 shifters attached so you dont accidently shift on tranny and not the other.

  • oh my days!!! this car has torrettes!!!!! neva seen nfin twitch like it b4!!!

  • Would like to hear it with the engines running odd gears, one reving few thousand higher than the other would be ace! one for the torque other for power, lol

  • think about that...that would completely not work. you would have one set of wheels spinning at a different rate than the others.

  • yes if the engines were at same speed..... but like i said different engine revs :) just i seen the tiger kit (lotus 7 shape) that is capable of doing just that! (seem to remember was on top 5th gear with Tiff Needle years ago too? it broke as i remember. lol

  • its got a diff 1 engine doesnt do 1 wheel. the engines r linked if u listen to the bloke!

  • now i want to see it with 2 busa engine's hp wold me prety mutch the same but the tork wold be insane 1 busa engine have around 155..tork 180-190 hp :) :P

  • i dont think it would matter, its not a great design, the drive shafts are at funny angles and stuff like that.

  • it's one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in my whole life!!!

  • lol thats crazy round corners, i bet its scary as fuck to drive. 350bhp? you can get that much from a single hayabusa engine, with a turbo of course.

  • this looks amazing - I want one!

  • OMFG what a insane mini to drive.

  • straight rear axle and chain drive right?

  • Its on pistonheads just now at £11,900 - Bargain!! just look under bike powered cars it was only added recently.

  • This is the car that made me get into Mini's.

It was in Miniworld about 5 years ago. I think it cost £35000 to build.

It looks a bit light at the front.

  • Two shifters allow one engine to be shut down for less power, or if there's a mechanical problem. Both outputs go to one transfer box, then to a limited slip diff driving both rear wheels. As for fitting an R1 engine into the front, check out the videos of the ProMotive conversion.

  • why doesn't he just have the shifters welded together or just get one piece built. Also does he have a quickshifter fitted to the trans? This is badass though!

  • The commentary said that the engines are able to run completely independent, I'll assume the same is said about the transmissions. Welding them would prevent that.

  • I saw that part but my thing was that the shifter is two stalks... but who operates two wheels separately? That was what I meant about the welding of the shifters. Still allows the engines to run independently but synchronized under load

  • top speed?

  • That is insane.

How much did the engine conversion cost you ?

  • dude thats insane but it dooesn't look very stable

  • That driver is a BOZO. I thought he was going to bin it. A few too many pints for lunch??

  • With that much horse-power, and such a short wheel-base, it would be a real handfull...

I think he drove it very well, so knickers to you- stoker20!!

  • PWR must be insane

  • undrsteer :/

  • Maybe I'm missing something. I understand running one engine for efficiency. There are two transmissions correct, but they only drive one wheel each? One wheel drive? Is that correct? How does it feel. Other than that-cool car! On this car and the Smart cars these motorcycle engines are mounted in the rear (due to limited space). Can these motorcycle engines be mounted in the front (when space permits)?

  • No Its two wheel drive, As the commentary says the two engine are linked together, with one output to the rear wheels

  • yeah bike engines can be placed in front a mk indy kit car can be fitted with a honda fireblade engine fitted sideways check it out type in mk indy honda fireblade.

  • i have almost finished mine total cost is around 17k for me but you could save mony by shoppin around

  • how can you get that kind a car? what's the price? any infos??

  • great!!!!

  • whoa thats sick

  • WOW that is fucking awesome!!!!

  • maybe online one engine has been fitted with electric reverse for why they aint beel welded together?

  • how does he go in reverse? like how does he park?

  • They have a small electric motor for reversing

  • they also make a special bike reverse mgear box to accomadate.

  • If you build a car like this, why would u want to use only 1 engine?

So indeed, it seems more then logic to weld the gearshift together.. bit strange..

so is the high position of exausts..

  • wow

  • whats with the twin gearshift? wouldnt you just weld the two together, problem solved.

  • Because this way you can run the car on only one engine if little torque is needed, and let the second engine off. If you run on one engine you have to let the second one on neutral.

  • shouldnt there be a locking system for both of them? for when both engines are in use. a small catch or something? :/

  • bloddy hell thats a wicked car i LOVE ITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • OMFG!

  • aewsome mini

  • what a beast
