nzoomed, you're right - the ad was for the 1800 and was filmed in Whangarei. And the engine and front end disintegrated after it was shot. I would love to see that one again too - saw it on a doco many years a go.

im trying to locate the ad for the Morris/Austin 1800 TV advert that showed the car running over heaps of railway sleepers to demonstrate the hydrolastic suspension. if you can find it, let me know i really want it. TIA

Only one I know of with railway sleepers is a 1967 Torana ad, where an HB Torana drives along a section of old railway line...

There is a Morris 1100 advertisement from NZ that showed the same scene.

if there was id love to see it, perhaps it was for the 11oo, but i was certian it was the 1800. All i know is the engine dropped out after filming, and the 1800 had a weakness with the engine mount.
