What a classic film. Remember seeing this as a teen now in my thirties ( ahem..) but still love it. Great acting by Andrew McCarthy and of course Robert Downey Jnr still shed tears at the end of this film.
I love this film. Downey Jr steals it, the end kills me everytime ... You've done a good job with this, I think it works perfectly, so much in fact I went and bought the song off iTunes!!
Great vid! I love this movie! You know what is interesting? Jami Gertz (Blair) who plays in this movie with Robert Downey Jr. ended up also playing in Ally McBeal with him letter. I thought that was interesting.
I was 6 or 7 when i first saw it, My mom had the soundtrack. For some reason it's my favorite movie, and i don't even remember it. I wish I could find the soundtrack again, the casette is fucked now, 20 years of good use.
this is such a great flick--ahead of its time about real issues. you did well setting it to some bitchin' tunes too. it fit well.
it is spooky that RDjr is dealing with some of the same crap in his real life that this movie deals with. i'm pulling for him though, every inch of the way.
thanks for sharing this! i was hoping to find a good fan video for this movie!
i thought it was bang on 4 its time, just as crack was getting big in the state, when it was still very expensive. 2 do it now, the junkie could be on welfare and still afford the stuff. great film, excellent soundtrack very good acting from an underrated actor. ive seen ppl fukked up on crack and this is well portrayed
LOVE this movie!! I can SO relate to the "wish I was back in the 80s" comment-MAN!! Had it MADE, those were the days!! No responsibilities lol-but we didn't have to worry about kids shooting each other, maybe a fight here and there..but all I remember are drunk/crazy nights!!
I love the filming locations of the movie! Pure 80´s Los Angeles Style back in those days! Palm Springs in the end of the movie was also a very nice location! I heard, Palm Springs was and still is a Paradise Place for homosexualls from California!
I love the 80´s and that´s one of the main reasons, why I like this movie so much! It´s pure 80´s (locations, style, music etc.)!
Especially R. Downey Jr. as Julian and J. Spader as Rip kicks ass in their movieparts!
I also thought that the title less than zero was interesting because these kids are filthy rich, how could they have less than zero? Ultimatly Julian ended up with less than zero in the end. Sad, sad, movie.
yea so I felt like it was a story about self worth, confidence and love for youself rather than just say no, I agree it was irritating to see the just say no campaign, but that is also an important part of the story and shows us how quickly they can bring you down and keep you down. Just look at the real Rdj, how he was, thankfully his real story didnt turn out like julian's and he is now back in movies :)
ALOT of people seem to dislike the just say no part about it, but I think that's what makes it so effective, because of how Julian was and how he died, more so than if he lived. i honeslty dont think the movie was about drugs though, I felt like the point was that everyone thought of Julian as less than zero, parents so called friends, including himself, when he reeli wasn't he was a human being who wanted love, guidence and help, but there wasn't anyone except himself and that wasnt enough :(
This movie doesn't deserve the credit that it should. This song adds a great touch to the movie. Robert Downey Jr, how did you play that character so well? What did you do to prepare for your scenes? lol
The movie was too slick and unrealistic of a view of the 80s (as if Joel Schumaker directed The Catcher in the Rye). It was a 1987 viewpoint of a plot based in the earlier 80s, which of course was much different. The movie is not a snapshot of the 80s at all.
Wow this film is way too close to the Robert Downey Jr's real life. I loved the film and James Spader was a creep. Thanks for posting this clip love the song.!!!
i read less than zero at the age of 17, then went out and wrote a rediculously bad novel about disaffected teens who grow up in boring orange county. Many years later i have sharpened the scalpel and can now precisely tell the story how it should be told. Look for the title 'Romeos Cramp'. this is not the OC or laguna Beach, this is OC in the 80's when kids had no cell phones or guns and the tough kids at school were rockers and punks and fun things to do were
When this movie was made the club kids were already doing their thing and preparing for the next instalment of the ongoing saga of the teenage delinquints. Wonder what's next.
The book is just fantastic, can hardly believe it was written by Easton Ellis when he was my age, 19. The atmosphere of disaffection and world weariness is so tangible. But the fim didn't work for me. Hope somebody decides to remake it, and set it in the mid 90's. That would almost be too cool!
I disagree with that statement. I like the movie and I enjoyed the book. However, what one enjoys reading is not necessarily what one enjoys seeing on film and this is a good example. I like how they took it and made it into a "jast say no" kinda film. The acting was great too.
Haven't watched the movie in a while. I believe that is his abdomen with her hand covering his belly button and then the bottom of her jacket is in front of her.
what is that between her legs in the sex scene, I can't make it out. A back, a chest, a head? really weird looking. but good video. I've never seen the film though. I'll try to get a hold of it because I just saw that James Spader is in it as well.
Amo esta pelicula..¡¡¡¡Gracias por regalarme este video!!!!
