  • besides one arm pull ups require way more pulling strength than muscle ups which are and should only be a gymnast move,,,they are more about technique than pure strength and pulling strength,pull ups rule

  • muscle ups are the worst shit,they destroyed my rotator cuffs,humans are weak and shouldnt overdo it,thats why we have brains to control the amount of power we can use,,i was too ambitious,too proud,and i was doing them,and it wasnt the best form,i wasnt strong enough for them,and now paying the price....anyway,this guy is amazing,but you can build incredible pulling strength just with the pull ups and no rotator cuff injuries there...

Here is a simple way to do muscle ups...learn how to do 10 overhand pullups slowly....now start to do them fast and try and go up as high as you can....and in a few short months of training you can show off you muscle ups abilities....

  • @nikonxxx Look at the angle of his body when going up, and where his legs are at. His body is actually at a slight tilt back with chest kind of upwards, & his legs are somewhat forward and flexed. Then see how he swings his weight back with his legs while going up to set up the press up top. The upward motion looks kinda rounded until ready to do the press, which goes straight up. The trick is is swinging your legs back to prepare the press up top.

  • zue, I wasn't trying to piss anyone off. I did 20 muscle ups on the bar for crossfit's wod on the 21st, but still couldn't do one on the rings. my technique was just wrong. but now I can do a lot on the rings. I still think bar is easier (my opinion) keep up the hard work

  • this exercise is no joke. When I do these i like to shoot my knees up to help generate some more power. The fact that this guy can bust out 20 in a row with his legs straight and using just raw power is pretty crazy. props to you.

  • everyone who wants to do a muscle up, its about the technique. if you try it just by doing a normal pullup and then switching your grip, its going to be a lot more difficult. notice how his body is pushed forward while he is in deadhang, then he pulls his body slightly back while he goes up.try to pull your body out a little on the up movement to do a muscle up if you're having difficulty

  • I started doing these with a workout buddy. He can do them the way it is shown in the video, with both wrists getting into position at the same time for the bar dip portion of the muscle up. When i do it, i must get my left wrist into position fisrt, briefly rest my chest against the bar for a second maybe less, and then get my right wrist into position for the bar dip portion of the muscle up. Any advice on getting into the bar dip portion of this exercise? Technique? Exercises?

  • @Bob8199 i hear alot of people saying you should be able to do at least 20, and your dip strength must be very strong also when ur at the top of your pull up the bar must be hear the bottom of your chest
