"You know what?! I will!" Then the other dike says "scissor me timbers when you're done!" thats how it all happened.

  • Them gloves suck! The big C won't get you on the change out...

  • I HATE LIVING IN APARTMENTS TOO.CANT EVEN WASH MY CAR

  • haha! I got those gloves. Thanks for the video, i now have an idea of what the valve does, people like that lady are just jealous that they can't fix a car.

  • Thanks for making the video. It's handy to see what the part looks like. I have to do the same on my vehicle. Also appreciated the fact that I am not the only who has to deal with "adversity" when I take on a project like this. ;-)

  • Hand Cancers

  • omfg, i was dying when he starting talking about that lady that was acouple yards away, lmao!!!!

  • love your honesty in the words used......;-D yup hand cancer Oh My

  • She wants yo dickk

  • is there any way to check if an egr valve works when its not in the car??2

  • hand cancer is the leading cause of death in america. Lmao. My dad would have punched me if I wore gloves while working on a car with him

  • The EGR allows exhaust gas to reenter the combustion chamber in order to reduce temperature, so that fewer NOx create right? Why not just reduce the fuel amount blown in the cylinder in first place? This would also lead to a lower temperature, or not???

  • What solvent did you spray into the valve? Did you use the same for the tube? Did it immediately dissolve out the guck? Thanks.

  • 3:09...so many people getting into ur sh#4! --excellent piece of video social commentary!

Headlines -Egr valve Ceaning Video turns into Social Commentary Video! lol!

  • thanks before even starting

  • lol "i'm gonna take off this metal thing here"

  • Thanks I thought I got this hand cancer from holding cigarettes.

  • She wants you bad man !!!buahahaha

  • fuckin numpty!-"this guy connects to this guy"-"this guy connects to this bolt here!"

OIIIII!!!!Its a fucking "Nut!". Fuck sake mate.whats the point of this video???

  • WOW, that book is so... much better then haynes!

  • When my EGR stopped working on my ranger, it wasn't the valve but the regulator module beside it that wasn't take a exhaust reading

  • lol what a bitch, you get those things from long term exposure

  • hand cancer?? my friend, you have no balls

  • damn you're so lucky you don't own an infiniti i30 / maxima... EGR valve is tucked under the intake manifold lol <_<;

  • A clogged EGR port will not make the engine run poorly. It may detonate but not run poorly.

The EGR system is added to induce exhaust gasses into the fuel mixture to act as a "filler" and lower exhaust temperatures. Reducing oxides of nitrogen, a deadly odorless gas. Not to be confused with nitrous oxide which is an entirely different gas used, with other modifications to enhance performance.

  • @boaterbil still a plugged intake or egr valve will cause you to loose gas mileage^^

  • @boaterbil Actually an EGR can get stuck open from build-up, therefore inducing a massive air leak into the system. That would definitely make the engine run poorly.

  • Comment removed

  • @billman2112 Sorry for the comment removal. It was taken off before I saw it. I guess Youtube didn't like it. But yea you're right. An upper intake cleaner would probably have cleaned it out. Unfortunately I didn't know about anything like that. I guess you live and learn.

  • @billman2112 Actually on second thought I'm not sure if an upper intake cleaner would have worked. The EGR valve would have to be activated while you revved the engine. I'm not exactly sure if the EGR would have been kicked on during that.

  • @milobard Wat where u on? it a funny video . we teach this to the children of heart. you swear to much.

  • metal thing.

  • What a wussy

  • my car is a 1995 4cl accord and it starts to "jerk" at a steady speed like 60 could it be the egr valve ive changed the oil, plugs, and tires and no codes are showing up

  • @DDarkulic121 You might have something wrong with your transmission. I would definitely have it looked at by a transmission shop. Have a friend recommend a place so you know they're honest.

  • @DDarkulic121 ive had a similar problem with a chevy lumina and a ford bronco and they were both fuel pumps

  • Dont be so paranoid. Just go talk to her.

  • @journeyquest1 She might get me :(

  • @milobard THAT LADY DONT WANT YOU FIXING YOUR CAR IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD DUDE!

  • @BlackFreemasonsSuck black free masons do suck

  • @emutiny White Freemasons suck dick worse than any bitch! they will even suck the oil off your transmission! them white motherfuckers are some flaming faggots and they control the world, so dont forget that! Black freemasons are greedy ass houseniggers thats looking for scraps from the whiteman and the whiteman may throw him a lil something, like ole messy Jessy and Rev Al but they will never get Power! Prez Obama dont run shit! The RothChilds run this!

  • @milobard lol

  • @milobard I bet she soon ran away when you started putting them gloves on!

  • Hi Milobard, excellent video. I like how you talk about your neighbours!

I had my egr valve (98 Cavalier, 67 000Km) cleaned three months ago, and the symptoms are returning. Maybe I have to do it myself this time. What spray product did you use to clean out the metal parts that were too small for the wire brush?

    Thanks for the video.

  • @Strawdog9 Actually you might check if the port in the back of the intake where that curvey pipe connects is clogged up. I pulled my throttle body off and disconnected the EGR pipe and found the port to be completely clogged. I would check that port first before you go pulling your EGR valve.

  • you kinda of skip the video ahead past how you got the giant nuts unscrewed, its the part where you say you don't have anything close to that..., im assuming you meant a wrench for the nut size. can you tell what the size was? plus your car seems to have easier access than my 95 camry. its far more difficult

  • @FANtomCore Good point. Every time I watch the video I regret not covering that part better. I'm pretty sure that huge nut on the end of the pipe that connects the tube to the EGR valve is a 19mm bolt. If you notice it abruptly gets dark in the video around that time. It's because I had to stop everything and get a ride from a friend to the closest Auto Zone to buy another wrench just for that bolt. Hope this helps. Sorry to hear the Camry access is a pain.

  • # star haha.

  • I dont know squat about cars so I was wondering if you can clear something up for me. I recently took my car to get s moged and it didn't pass, the machanic said it needed a new o2 senser and the EGR Valve clean, and of course the price for parts and labor comes out to $320.00 Is this really the problem for not passing smog.

  • @luigifan89 If your O2 sensor was bad and your EGR valve wasn't working correctly it would definitely throw off your emissions which could lead to you failing the exam. I don't know anything about the price for parts for your car, however.

  • @milobard alright thanks man then ill get started on cleaning and replacing the sensor and valve right away.

  • @luigifan89 What year is your car? Is the check Engine light On?

  • Interesting video it captures a repair and city traffic and people.

  • Dude, I have a garage.. and MY neighbors STILL sit on their porches and stare when I'm workin on my truck. I try to open the garage about 1 foot just for air and stay inside when I can. Thanks for the laughs at 3:10!!! LOL - I have removed my entire fuel sys and rebuilt the carb... next I am replacing all the vacuum lines and I guess the EGR is leaking, so that's next.

  • Thank you for the video and I can relate to the neighbors walking by and asking you what you doing like they are interested in helping?

  • I'm thinking of getting a 96 tercel for 900, fairly fgood shape, a bit of rust, what do you think?

  • how do u know when the valve is clogged?

  • @maurjul It's sorta hard to do without an OBD-II scanner presenting the "EGR insufficient flow" error code. Mine would idle weird and die while waiting at red lights. You can rent an OBD-II scanner for free from Autozone to see if you have any error codes posted on the car's computer. Most manufacturer's error code descriptions are online so it's pretty easy to find what they mean.

  • you lost me at "motor oil is carcinogenic"

  • @arstclair what a baby girl

  • just to clear up on vacuum hoses many vehicles dont number them. always use masking tape and number them and number the place they connect to

  • i know exactly what you mean, i want to try and make the odd video of my car etc. and its amazing how nosey people are....if i were to put the camera inside the engine bay, and talk to it, comment on what i'm filming, its all to easy to be dubbed a lunatic for 'talking to yourself'...seriously people are way to nosey nowadays!

  • lmfao @ hand cancer! I stopped watching there.

  • @SubtitlesInEnglish hand cancer is the great underground epidemic of our time.

    beware.

  • I live in a dorm and I had to replace the right side axle, the steering knuckle and the right front shock absorber in the dorm parking lot. That's technically illegal here...apparently, so I had to do it all under cover of night. In 17 degree weather....which I actually prefer over being watched by strangers like you were or being helped by bossy/talkative people. Seriously, what are people's problem?!?!

  • LMAO about the lady looking at you. Must have been the gloves!!!

    Paullarez

  • I know what you mean about people hanging around and watching. Its 100 times better to do car stuff when you have somewhere private to do it. Rather than have people wandering past all the time. I go to someone elses house to fiddle with my car.

  • i wish i had a garage... fucking stand byers

  • hand cancer? lol

  • getting to thing in a 98 ford contour is a pain in the ass

  • omg gloves ive slept with my hands black from gasoline motor oil axle greese and brake clean then cleaned them 8 hours later hahahah

  • lol that is so funny

  • Is that last post in english?

  • That post is the reason I work on my own cars. can you imagine that guy wrenching on your ride?

  • right soo why are u cleening it for tall u the best thing to do get a lil matal plate block off the EGR and get more bang for ur buckes e.g if u are paddle to the matal and u are mixxing dirty fule with cleen fule ur not geting 100% maxxium peformunce out of the car it just like haveing a drink of macdonons if u have ice it water down ur drink so there for ur not geting the best drink soo if u bolck the EGR ur geting a richer cleener more eco substnce........

  • Gotcha bitch!!!! 6:47

  • @fanfav

    whooah, so hot :/

  • The commentary was humorous though a little colorful for my preferences, but then again, hey, it's a car repair video...

Nonetheless, thanks a ton for posting it. I just got back from autozone's free engine light reading and they told me EGR Valve. This video gives me just the confidence I need to go and get after it.

    Thanks again.

  • It's not only apartments that people watch what you do. Around me when I work on my car my neighbors all come out and stare at me like "what the hell someone working on a car blasphemy"

  • @jeanjones9154

I hate that!!! It's like "OMG That person DOESN'T want to pay someone $100 an hour just to turn a wrench a little bit and get their hands all dirty?". I know the process can sometimes be annoying but it's a good feeling when you work on your car and fix problems by yourself, AND the money saved is the best part!

  • @nightmathzombieethan Yeah, you wouldnt think it but just completing a small job on your car makes you feel really good and also makes you feel like less of a sucka who would normally get ripped off by the pros.

  • @alwaysblank Amen, I couldn't agree more!

  • @jeanjones9154 lol funny

  • Good video. How did you control the veiw in and out with out using your hands? It looked like you where the only working the camera. What kind of camera you using? Enjoyed the video.

  • Hey honey, I'm the nosy lady who was standing "literally 10 yards away." I was standing there because I wanted to know what kind of spray you were using. I was too embarassed to ask so here I am asking now. Thanks for your help.

  • great vid that B%!$# needs some egg yoke on her windows to make her hobby more difficult (funniest part of the video 3:25-3:45)

  • great vid. What was the cleaner that you sprayed in the valve?

  • good vid , yup theres always one crazy in each dwelling , i have one too , i live above a child molester .

  • a good video man

  • nice video men.

    Thank you.

  • open heart surgery, thats some funny shit. good job on doing it your self

  • good job

  • hey man i just bought a 2001 ford crown vic police interceptor.. and the check engine light is on and it sputters when im driving.. i took it to autozone and they checked the light and said it was the egr valve.. my question is do u know how hard it is to clean on this car?? I don't know ANYTHING about cars any info will help alot thank you

    R.

  • @rizzlelizzle89 Actually the EGRs on the larger american cars and trucks are way easier to get to. There's a really good video on expert villiage about replacing the egr on an american truck. That could help.

  • @milobard ??? Good video and expert village in the same sentance!

  • Awesome video! 5 stars!

  • yea iam getiing 75,76,77, which are the egr valve ...cylanoids

  • @afatnickelrock Yea... I don't know what that even means. Check your repair manual or any GM message board for the error code descriptions.

  • iam still getting the engine light should i try replacing the gaskets,,both the tube gaskets and egr valve gasket?

  • @afatnickelrock Before you pick up a wrench I would rent an OBD-II scanner from autozone or checker or whatever and see what code you've got. That will tell you what the general problem is. You could have any number of things causing the check engine light.

  • you have to clean the egr valve tube with carb cleaner,,,are its pointless.

  • @afatnickelrock

At around 7:25 I discuss cleaning the "egr valve tube"

  • lmao ;gotcha bitch MM!'

  • FYI!!! In case anyones light still turns on after you replaced the egr valve....i also had the same problem....so I replaced the vacuum thingie as well (guy says that in the beginning of his video) and it corrected the problem. That "vacuum thingie" was $66 at Autozone. I passed the emissions as well! Shweet. And I am a girl!!!! I am cool! I feel cool!

PS! Guy in video you are hawwt!

  • godd for you girl!!!(can you do mine?)lol

  • Well if it isn't Danny Milobar, I'll be damned. This shit reminds me of when we were kids getting the service manuals to our cars at AutoZone. Changing break pads and getting bitched out by Steve constantly for spilling brake fluid. Glad you're doing good.

  • excellent ty

  • hey man i have mine cleaned, but when i had i smog checked, i failed bigtime caused by the egr, the technician said. what do you think is the problem? Thanks

  • Somthing is still causing your EGR valve to malfunction. With a malfunctioning EGR valve, the air/fuel mixture is not being diluted like it should be, therefore you're getting increased levels on Nitrogen Oxide, THEREFORE.. failed emissions. It could be a variety of things.. what is the make and model of your car? Some cars will have a PERFECTLY fine EGR valve, but will have a faulty DPFE sensor that controls the EGR, causing it to fail. It all depends.. what's your car?

  • Hey man, thanks for your reply. I have an old but nice lookin' 1990 toyota corolla, egr model: 25620-16131 oem. Before i installed the egr, i checked the diaphram and cleaned the tubes and installed a new vacumm. i was so confident that it will pass the smog test, but it did not. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Keep up the good work bud! Thank you

  • Hey man, not a problem! There's nothing more frustrating than making a bunch of repairs and spending MONEY on top of that.. and STILL having a problem.. Hmmm.. ok so somthing is still causing your EGR to malfunction even though you have cleaned passages, a solid EGR valve with a working diaphram, and the works so to speak.. Your car IS new enough that computers are going to be doing some of the work to make your EGR operate correctly, although your car does not have a DPFE sensor. Does your dash

  • have a MIL (malfunction indicator light) illuminated? Even if it doesn't, we've still got a problem one way or another don't we? If a sensor is bad however, the computer most of the time recognizes this and sets off a code, illuminating the light saying you've got an issue. Your problem could be the solenoid which tells the EGR to open and close when needed, and there is a way to test this. On the solenoid housing (you'll see wires coming from somewhere on your EGR to a box of some sort, this is

  • your solenoid) there will be an assortment of wires, one of which will be the ground wire for the solenoid. If you take a paperclip and straighten it out (or any other peice of metal that will conduct electricity) and jam it in next to your ground wire, and connect a jumper wire the the negative battery terminal of your car's battery, while the engine is running, touch the jumper wire to the paperclip. If your car's idle drops almost to the point of stalling or it actually does stall, the soleno

  • -id is doing it's job, and it's telling the EGR when to open and close correctly. However, if it DOESN'T affect the idle or cause the car to stall, the culprit is a faulty solenoid. Other than this, if you have cleaned passages and a working EGR valve, I don't know what the problem could be.. Answer me this question though if you could. EGR does not work in these three situations because combustion temperatures are low and it's not necessary. A.) when you are at idle. B.) when your engine is

  • not up to temperature yet, or C.) when you are at wide open throttle, a.k.a. really giving your car gas to get it to go. Combustion temperature IS high during C, but if the EGR valve was to work it would affect engine performance, so it does not operate during this time. Do you notice your car running poorly during normal driving OR during any conditions not listed there? If so, it IS your EGR. If not, somthing else is causing the problem, and your technician may have incorrectly diagnosed your

  • vehicle. There are PLENTY of other emmision devices which of failed to cause your car to fail the smog test. If your car is running fine though, it's probably not your EGR system. I'm anxious to find out what the issue is with your vehicle man!

  • I have a 2003 malibu and my check engine light came on.I change my egr valve and changed the lines on it!And my buddy shut the check engine light off with his handheld tool but after 20 mile it came back on.Took it back to him and it read egr insuffecent flow he turned it back off.And after 20 mile or so the engine light came on again. Please help

  • @lanegjones hope this isn't too late. First of all I don't know anything about the EGR system on a malibu. So consider yourself warned that this advice might be useless. I would make sure the EGR port in the intake manifold isn't clogged. Also check the metal pipe that connects the intake manifold to the EGR valve. Both of those could be clogged.

  • Thanks but i fixed it! It was the seal $2.86 fix!

  • Did you also clean out the EGR pipe or just the valve? If you did the pipe, did you change the gaskets?

  • Yes I cleaned out both the pipe and valve and changed both gaskets. And if you're considering making your own gaskets I'd go with the manufacturer's gaskets. It's some sort of high temp special gasket. I got mine from the dealer. I forgot how much they cost but they weren't too bad.

  • on the egr valve, what do you spray it with? mine needs to be cleaned, and i used pipe cleaners, but is there a special chemical you're supposed to use?

  • Carb cleaner or any aerosol can of solvent.

  • thanks

  • I hate it when people sit there and watch me, too. Drives me fucking insane.
