  • Netflix sucks anymore. They used to be a company that just did their thing and left The people alone. They offered a great service at an affordable rate. Then they decided to charge more $ just "because". A month later the CEO wakes up and decides to create something called "Qwikster". Then he changes his mind and resorts back to the old way under one name.

This company can't decide what the fuck they want to do.

A multi-million dollar company being run like a fucking lemonade stand.

  • @thebakerman1 Does seem very haphazard.

  • @gfreakj The sad thing about this is Netflix actually has a really good infrastructure established for the service they offer. The root system is already in-place and well established, and people clearly like it. Netflix knows this and timed their rate increase once they felt people just "couldn't live" without their service and would pay the higher fees regardless. Then they lost nearly a million customers and issued an "apology"?

People don't want an apology. We want the old prices back.

  • @thebakerman1 Agreed. I am still having DVD's delivered. I rarely used the streaming anyways so I cancelled that.

  • netflix is still amazing, i have to say it seems a bit childish to complain about a 5 dollar price hike... stop whining

  • @pazzizlepants Would you like to pay it for me? Then don't tell me what to whine about. I haven't cancelled my subscription to the service. I Just cut back the streaming portion.

  • you will never be accepted back into netflix you faggot, and if you wanna come back you pay triple the fees LOL. and to those bitches that complain. you drove out the competition by going to netflix and places like blockbusters, hollywood videos closed shop due to you bitches. now netflix raises rates what you morons expect? This is what you get for expecting something for nothing.

  • Greedy ASSHOLES!

  • @MARTYRxDEFILED Indeed the yare.

  • @righty121 Once I get out if debt and stop using CC I might have a problem.

  • @righty121 Most places require CC now. Say it's to keep people from stealing. So they have something to charge if movie isn't returned/.

  • @righty121 Netflix drove em out of business and then jacked up their rates as soon as they were gone. Shitty!

  • @righty121 I do too. It sucks not having options.

  • I am sick of the price change

  • @lgOptimusv I think they have alienated a lot of their customers.

  • i switched to streaming only this month,if by end of 2011 the streaming selection still lacks in quality selection,i will be "qwik" to cancel it all together cause who are they kidding their selections for streaming at the moment suck major ass

  • @Betotubing Indeed it does. I always thought that was why it was included in the price in the first place.

  • continued... Yeah their September apology to make up for the 60% increase is to split off into 2 websites. Thats right, its like saying, hey I'm going to make it up to you by making you breakfast in bed, but if you want any condiments like jam or butter, you need to truck it on over to the neighbors house. P.S. All hail General Zod! :o) lol

  • @JZXtreme777 LOL. They have screwed themselves.

  • Totally agree, a 60% increase. I canceled my DVDs and for now just get the streaming. But if they raise the price again, or another company comes along that can stream to my Motorola Bionic, I'm soooo switching. Their latest apology in September for what they did to us in July was great. They admit to messing up, but their solution is to split the company. Yeah that makes up for increasing my bill by 60%, make me go to 2 website...

  • At a time like this, GREEEEEDY! When they raised their prices i hated them.

I didnt have to think about anything. I MADE my decision. I got the F**ck OUT of there FAST! ! ! ! YOU should too NOT going back.

Doesnt Netflix realize there are plenty of online services, practacly FREE. I hate you netflix, Bye forever!

  • Been using netflix for years. I just downgraded my plan to streaming only. There is one little bitty thing that some do not take into consideration and that is TAX. Here in Tennessee, tax is almost 10%. Any of the new good movies, you're on waitlist forever to get them...I end up doing pay per view anyway for those. I am actually glad I don't have to fool with those torn red slips any more.

  • @netmoney I think a lot of people feel the same way you do. I am so far behind in my movie watching that I don't miss getting movies on the day they come out on DVD. I think they have to do something about being so delayed in getting new movies or people are gonna start leaving their service.

  • @gfreakj They up the price but not the service. That is the big issue as I see it. If new movies were available immediately to everyone, might be able to understand the high charge increase. It's kinda now like the telephone. People still use it but not much. Dish gets way too much of my money too which is one reason why I went with NetFlix from the getgo, same as many people. I'm getting ready to downgrade my plans with them too! I think it's time we all get a life!

  • @netmoney Indeed.

  • @gfreakj I agree with every word you said. This is bullshit --- the sad thing is that while your video is playing a popup for netflix comes on in the right margin. Sorry Dude.

  • @LessIsMoor Thats one thing I hate about allowing ads on my videos. When I hate on politicians there videos seem to run and now this. DAMN IT! ;)

  • 2012 is near, the shit has hit the fan. buckle ur seatbelts motherfuckers. oh, & watch for snakes on this roller coaster ride from hell. u thought 2001 was bad? we ain't seen nothin yet, who knows, maybe China will come over to good old U.S.A & tell us to "pay up what debts u owes us now, or we take over all ur real estate," as they beat us down with baseball bats. ahh, I say, let it come, let it come, & may the gods take me away from all this drama b4 it really gets nasty.

  • Take more from us and give nothing more for it. Greed and disrespect for its loyal customers. Netflix is abusing its leverage. Having created a monopoly, they intend to milk us for every penny it can, rather than go lower, in a time when necessities can barely be afforded, let alone luxuries. Makes me sick. Where is our security as customers? Who is to stop Netflix from hiking the prices another two times next year?? Forever tarnished in my eyes, I'm quitting Netflix the day of the split.

  • @AmericanPowerBase Ill check into it. Didnt even think of Amazon.

  • thats crazy..i like paying $11 now i have to pay $16 wtf.

  • I agree with you 100% watch my message to Netflix we need to get the word out

  • @AmericanPowerBase They can't stop file sharing because it's just not gonna happen. They have tried to shut it down but they can't and they never will. I'm not afraid of the goverment.

  • @AmericanPowerBase Blockbuster filed for bankruptcy months ago. And lol, thats sad. What do they rob, 18 bucks and some popcorn?

  • They HAVE to raise the prices because the studios are greedy and are charging them more.

  • @SoaringDive Is that why ? If that is the case they should explain that.

  • @gfreakj Well... it MIGHT not be why... I heard it from some guys who know a bit more than I do in terms of how this kinda stuff works.

It probably is though, it would make sense. And I think Netflix has said they're being charged more (although I don't really know =/ ) for licensing fees.

  • @SoaringDive Many other people made the same comment you did. As one comment said "greed rules the day either way".

  • When They Add Video Games I Would Not Mind Paying More For It, I Can Wait Until The Movie Comes On Stars Or HBO, Mean While I'LL Take My Lazy Ass To Blockbuster If I Want To Rent A Flix.

  • @TheGamerchick123 No Blockbuster here in DC anymore. They all shut down/.

  • @gfreakj What Really??? Well I herd Some of Them Closed but dang.

  • @TheGamerchick123 I think there might be one left in SE DC but thats it.

  • Yep. Its because nobody is in competition anymore. Blockbuster was all that there was, and they've long since tanked. They have a horizontal monopoly, if you're familiar with that term. Really only cable networks are the only thing close to competiting with them, and thats only with On-Demand, which is more expensive. They virtually have control of the rental market because nobody else can really do it better than them.

  • @MisterDyslexo Never heard the term horizontal monopoly. It is interesting how they wiped out the competition.

  • lol..I don't rent or buy..I'm a pirate.

  • Get blockbuster, I can have three disc out at a time and rent video games from them for about $18.

  • @ramella15 Thats a great deal. I will definitely check them out.

  • I don't even buy that it costs them so much to stream. Youtube streams hundreds of times more bandwidth than Netflix and they manage to still make a ton of money with out a subscription fee and little advertisements.

  • @ez3002008 True.

  • All the blockbusters around me have been closed down in the past couple of months, it sucks because that was usually the place I went to get really cheap used games.

  • @nohozana They been gone out of Dc for a while now.

  • thank god i cancelled a couple months back xD

  • @iiBuLLeTzZHD You must be psychic.

  • they had no choice.. the movie studios are shaking them down for extra money... redbox is next.

  • @Kingcreep23

Shewt! Now that you mention it, I think I heard something along those lines. In faaaaaaact.....I also heard that the studios are charging theaters MORE than the revenue from the movie itself, which is one of the big reasons that concessions (candy, popcorn, soda) are so expensive. Whichever way you look at it, it appears that greed rules the day.

  • @Kingcreep23 If thats the case I am sliiiightly more sympathetic. But they should make that known.

  • Oh yeah G Another thing is Sony movies aren't on Netflix so what may happen is Sony will run it's own service for streaming videos. And many companies will appear so Netflix will be not the only one to perform this service.

  • @N64AndBattleTanx I didnt realize that. They have so much available I guess I don't miss Sony's movies.

  • The price increase could be do to the movie companies demanding more money for the use of their copyright material.

If they raise the price to much I will just start torrenting again.

  • @wood9670 Thats what a lot of other commenters here have said as far as the studios.

  • @MrChrisj20 If they started having new movies available right away steaming I'd consider it.

  • @MrChrisj20 yea i see what u mean although they do have some good movies that are streaming but i really dont care im in it for the tv shows n netflix aint slacking in that department

  • Quit using netflix a while back.

But Netflix's plan was to X out Blockbuster and a lot of video companies, then once they all go backrupt raise the prices for consumers so there are no other choices. But RedBox has stepped into the picture with its service. I don't get why they raise everything. Just raise streaming!

  • @N64AndBattleTanx They did it well.

  • I know it was forthcoming did people people honestly believe that all their cheap junks they offering is all cheap and thats why they are offering it to us? their idea had always been to lure as many customers possible so they can arbitarily decide to hike the price to catch you by suprise.Im gonna stick with Hulu.

  • right on man!!fuck netflix!!!

  • Comment removed

  • You can watch it online or if you connect the computer to your TV you can watch it there. We dont rent the dvds from netflix but we did pay for a yrs subscription so we wont be paying anymore than what we already did. If need be I will watch the vids on Youtube or Hulu for free if I can find them or go to the library and rent them for free.

  • @Kimw1967 It streams through my xbox but they don't usually have the most recent movies streaming right away do they?

  • p.s. Check out "Alphas" on Hulu. was good!

  • @Tanarus20 Whats it about?

  • I dumped Netflix. Hulu has unlimited stream for 7.99/Mo.

  • Looks like they want more people to use live play, and perhaps they want to get OUT of the DVD thing, or at least discourage the mailing side of NetFlix. What pisses me off at them is their crappy selections and that I HAVE TO WAIT to get DVDs that I'd rather see live anyhow. Most of the stuff I want is NOT LIVE PLAY! And you have to wait for shit to come up on a list. I PLAN TO CANCEL NETFLIX. They will lose a lot of customers because their selections sux.

  • @umajunkcollector I usually get movies in a day. I agree if they had more streaming i'd just stream...which is why they won't do it.

  • They charge ludicrous amounts for a movie theater ticket, not they're jacking up the price of rentals and then they wonder why people pirate movies!!

  • I've been a Netflix costumer since 2005 when 3 dvds and streaming was $18.31 ....with no hassle. Today the same shit cost $21, but now we get movies 28 days LATER than Redbox and Time Warner on demand, so in the end I pay $5 on demand for every movie Netflix doesn't get on time. FUCK THEM and THANK YOU gfreakj for giving me somewhere to vent.

  • @Deepstarr7020 LOL. You're welcome.

  • I agree

  • we ended up saving money with the new rate structure.

  • I will pay the extra fee if the step up there game and get the new releases on instant. There selection know sucks so bad!

  • their streaming selection sucks the majority of the time. why raise the rates on a shitty selection? greed, you got it

  • there new movie selection sucks i seeing way more new movies on ppv then what they had in there selection i already cancelled

  • I cancelled my netflix all together. Went from the 2 dvds out at a time plan, to the "you know what you can do with your 2 dvds plan". Got HBO for $7 a month less per month compared to what my plan would have gone to. I know it's not the same thing, and honestly I could have afforded a 1000% increase in price, but it's the principle of what they did. I don't want to do business with that company any longer. I hope most people did what you and I did. I'd love to see this rate increase backfire.

  • @CmdrVOODOO It's nice to hear someone stands on principles.

  • I read Dish bought out Blockbuster and is offering some pretty good deals for disgruntled Netflix customers. I'm pissed and will have to drop my queue. I cancelled Directv several months ago because of the benefits of Netflix streaming. So if I drop streaming, it'll be no cartoons for my daughter. Can't have that. I guess I'll be heading to the library for movies.

  • @thalonelygirl I always forget about the library.

  • Didn't they break up their packages so that instead of having to get mailed videos and streaming movies, you can get one or the other now?

Also, this probably has a lot to do with the fact that Blockbuster Videos are closing up shop everywhere. Trying to corner the market and jack up the prices. That will only lead to their failure and more competition barring any government interference.

  • @Mauhadeeb28

Blockbuster is going under because of the same arrogance that netflixx is showing right now. They would Jack up prices, charge ridiculous late fees, and overpriced concessions just like you'd find in the theaters. I worked there for 3 years so I know.

  • @kuunami I don't doubt that, but, NetFlix is now offering streaming and mailed videos separately. You don't have to buy both services at once. The streaming service is cheaper now because of separate charges. Those who only want streaming video are loving the price change.

  • @Mauhadeeb28 And we know the government would NEVER interfere in business. :0

  • @gfreakj hahahahaha!!!

  • @Carrie3570 ;)
