He hasn't lost his voice as some people claim. This is just one of his many voices. I heard him in concert and when he introduced the members in the band his voice was just fine, perfectly natural. No, this is put on purposely. I must admit I don't much care for it though.
"when you patronize someone they don't respect you" ?
This performance was first class and an example of why he still sells out throughout the world. Which Bob Dylan song did you watch after you typed this one in?
America's greatest songwriter on a very fine German guitar. I'm glad that Bob plays the guitar again and not that keyboard. What a superb performance, MIchael Douglas must have enjoyed it.
That's exactly what I thought when I saw the video. It can be due to the perspective or camera angle. I have the Duesenberg catalogue and in it the neck looks relatively similar to normal guitars like a Tele- or Stratocaster. But I don't mind so much, as a bassist I'm used to thicker calibers! :)
It is really great to see bob back on guitar He hasn't played it much at all this decade. We all know he hates tv performances and has stage fright. His guitar playing is very good, being a very nervous man in front of the camera, and he is playing lead while singing, and we all know Bob sets his own timing. Nobody has ever been to follow it since he started out. He starts and stops as he pleases
bob...i watched this on tv when you performed it. i didn't watch the whole show, just you. i must say, you always seem to appear when i'm mad as hell! and, you always seem to be able to put me right. thanks. keep showing up...you never know what might happen :) see you...in houston...august second...

ok man, listen. Desolation Row great choice. going to see him would help with your thesis work then i suppose. did i analyze DR ??? no. i mean the lyrics are fascinating, but i'm not looking for any secret message. i hope this is not some kind of a j weberman bullshit. there's something like 18 shows left. try to go. i'll give this adviceDylan will be at the right corner of the stage. his left shoulder facing you. get in the center or to your left. to the right sucks. this is not bs
yeah i'm huge beatle fan. saw Mccartney once. Dylan has eclipsed them all. seen petty many times. twice with Dylan. like i said before i ran out of space, where i told you get yourself at the show is not bullshit. anyone in the last 4-5 years or so will tell you that. got any of his bootlegs? i don't know much about contacting without it being blasted all over the planet. i might have some laying around. oh yeah, don't take a camera, you can get tossed for taking pictures. later
the jackson 5 thing was lame. it just popped into my head. i'll say this and probably get blasted, theMccartney show was way over produced. Paul said something like that himself somewhere sometime after that tour. i can't remember what year it was. 20 years ago or so. don't turn into a weberman and all is good. this vid we're going over is like the shows now. i saw Dylan 7.13.09 strongest in the last few years.i thought. it comes down to shows back to back for him. 1-2 days off bettershow
yeah, i've just got his whole discography, that's about it, i've heard a lot of bootlegs but they weren't mine..you said you saw him 7.13.09,does Dylan still play the keyboard most of the time? I know that' has been his instrument of choice for a while. Yeah the Beatles got me into music actually, i threw away everything i had before then, music wise (mostly 90s music)...and basically started over listening to 60s music...I've got a friend who is seeing McCartney in August...
Like with most recent Bob performances it's a new take on a song, kind of has a life of it's own and grows and improves as it goes along. This man is a relentless genius. Most people don't get it...and that makes it even better.
soniags, i am sure that you have both ears. now listen to the video. you hear it?
a band failing to enter at right places, bob playing wrong chords on his guitar, or playing notes that are not on the acale, bob's voice, mainly at the first verses, is horrible, the mix is awful. apart of that - great performance.
see him again so you can dissect the performance. i guess you did'nt have "both ears" in 2007. sorry friend been playing that way for years. many years. aside from his voice is different than it was 50 years ago. i'm sure you're one of the people that go to see him and cry " it does'nt sound like the record" you people will never cease to amaze me. but man, you are one gifted sound engineer.
Why you say that? I see him quite often and I think this is a great performance. Why you think it is not great? Are you comparing him with what? When did you see him last time live?
I've seen him many times, and this surpasses the original version in my mind. You are of course free to think otherwise, but you're being intellectually dishonest in trying to pass your opinion off as objective truth.
Of course his voice is failing him slowly but surely. However, I get the impression that he is trying to compensate this by phrasing more accurately. And I like the camera angle on this. Great job.
glad too see bob dylan makes mistakes too 0:42, he can sin twinkle twinkle little star and I'd still love it

the jackson 5 thing was lame. it just popped into my head. i'll say this and probably get blasted, theMccartney show was way over produced.

Most people don't get it...and that makes it even better.

soniags, i am sure that you have both ears. now listen to the video. you hear it?
a band failing to enter at right places, bob playing wrong chords on his guitar, or playing notes that are not on the acale, bob's voice, mainly at the first verses, is horrible, the mix is awful. apart of that - great performance.
saw him last time in 2007

see him again so you can dissect the performance. i guess you did'nt have "both ears" in 2007. sorry friend been playing that way for years. many years. aside from his voice is different than it was 50 years ago. i'm sure you're one of the people that go to see him and cry " it does'nt sound like the record" you people will never cease to amaze me. but man, you are one gifted sound engineer.

only a person who never saw bob can say that this is a great version. it is everything but great.

Why you say that? I see him quite often and I think this is a great performance. Why you think it is not great? Are you comparing him with what? When did you see him last time live?

¿Te has fijado, Sonia? Bd tiene artrosis, y ésa puede ser la razón por la que toca más ese órgano Farfisa que a saber de dónde lo ha sacado.

Great job.

Great performance of Things have changed, Dylan's Oscar winner song in 2000, from the move Wonder Boys. Cool!

I preferred his voice from his early years. Great stuff nonetheless.
