I love the way he presses the engage a/p button so ceremoniously. Basically - that's his work over until they approach Nairobi!

Of course they have to fuel check, engage with ATC, modify the FMC but flying aircraft has come a long way!

@DaveWBedford ha ha yeah it is an office job nowadays, just a lot higher and faster than others.

All us pilots have to keep our hours up on a small single/twin prop with out A/P, so if we had to we would fly by hand but it would not be as efficient as A/P. Any way we had to use TOGA the other day so there' another reason why us boy's are still needed in airliners piloting.

How may hours do you need to do longhaul with British airway. Because on virgin Atlantic is 1000 hours. I am save up to learn to fly. Is not cheap. Pilot flight training with Oxford airport
