That sounds like it might also be good for knife attacks. There was aguy that built a catamaran and sailed it across the Atlantic, he built the hull from layers of paper, cloth and and pitch, which is a type of resinous tar. He used this material to cover his wooden frame. he could not penetrate it with a knife. I still like my idea as it hurts the attackers hand it hey punch a person wearing it.
you can easily make armor out of paper, plastic and electrical tape. i made a plate of of these materials and it stopped a 22, and it wasnt that thick so you could wear it under clothing. but yours is less to carry on you.
I can perceive a serious lack of intelligence while watching this video. It's actually one of the worst ideas about defending yourself. So what if the metal cuts your skin or something like that? You should start making some origami of cooking videos instead of showing your PhD in personal defense.
@VEUXetVOIS@VEUXetVOIS One question. What is your idea for a way to help stop a surprise pysical assault without the need for the attacked to do anything? Do you have a SINGLE video posted on a subject trying to help other people or how to make ANYTHING? I didn't say my idea was great, or even finished, I posted it to see if anyone had better ideas or way to improve it. You are like so many other youtube turds that only know how to run their mouth and never make or do anything.
I'd say a hard plastic armor underneath your clothing would take up the same amount of space and be less vicious. I wouldn't wish the pain of punching nails on anyone. It could also make your situation worse by enraging the attacker.
An alternate idea would be a device that makes a bright light and a loud sound. Bringing attention to yourself might deter an attack. But not like a car alarm because people ignore those because they are so common.
you should try a weight vest and switch the weights out for your spike strips. it wont protect your face or arms but if someone goes for a gut shot you might go down but they'll need stitches and wont be swingin on you again
Google this "BodyGuard 9XI-HD01" it is in use LASD. The article is cool IDK the cost of said device but it clearly is good to keep an assailant at bay. You could make something like that but use a harder sponge that will fit over your arm you conceal that you could be taken in for concealed weapon. You can call it a defense all you wish you would have to face a judge for that. I carry a real weapon a GUN.
@cdltpx Thanks fot the tip.I really appreciate it. it is good to carry a gun, but also good to have more options on the table, also some people do not have option of a gun due to where they live or if they have a felony record. many people outside the US are forbidden to protect themselves with weapons, I simply wanted a tool to help protect people from an unexpected physical assault. and you are right, in some locations even a plastic picnic fork or knife will get you arested.
@mrhulot101 I would make the deal you are proposing look like a sweat band so if asked you say it is a sweat band back scratcher. I would go with just the metal strapping with a sweat band covering it. Sadly that would cause them to bleed if they are tarded enough to attack people on the streets they probably have blood borne pathogens. They will leave DNA evidence but you could contract any disease they have. I say carry a machete and tell the police you are a landscather.
@mrhulot101 Yeh a sweat band is not an unusual item to be wearing unless it is winter. I know a dude that carries these carrbon fiber daggers that are not detected they are designed to stab into someone and be broken off and you cant leave a fingerprint no matter what.
They made a device that goes on the arm it is armor,a camera to and a tazer all operated hands free. IDK if it is allowed by civilians some police forces are using them. Sure the police belt is handy but having your equipment attached to the body where you would need it is best. When you are under attack you need things very handy kind of like the gamblers tiny pistol attached to a sleeve. What you designed should be fashioned for the front of lower leg. I would like to see an mace impact device
So, curiosity got the better off me.... Now.... what the fuck man?
You see a video about improvised body armor and that's your automatic response?
I wont say it wasn't an amusing watch because craziness at that level is so rare it's worth the watch but I think you'd be the sort to think you can take wisdom away from it and if you do I'd say you need to get back to school and reconsider your logical thinking process... jeez....
@philbx1 Well, you are right about me not being a native english speaker and I was typing that at the middle of the night while sick with a streptococcal infection and not exactly at my best.
The gist of what I meant to convey to you good sir is that the moment I saw your comment warning bells went of in my head screaming *racist asshole, racist asshole*..
not bad idea but what happens if someone close to you like your girlfriend, friends, family etc. want to hug you, a pat on the shoulder or something like that?
it's like those guys who puts gun in pants and then accidentally fire! XD
If putting these on your arms you'd need to attach them to vambraces and/or elbow pads to keep them in place when moving.
Been thinking about civilian body armour a bit myself and it seems that every time I keep coming back to motorcross full body protective suits as these are excellent quality, lightweigth and forms well to the body (not to protruding from the body frame) and they protects against scrapes, cuts and blunt trauma.
This idea should be possible to incorporate into a suit like that.
@88Kamikaze69 Thanks for replying. I used velcro on the webbing aterial and was not happy as it did not stay in place very well so securing the armor needs some more work, however, I was pretty happy how easy it was to add the sponge and protect from casual punctures. This could also be uses with modification with certain styles of hats.
@mrhulot101 If you want an easy way to secure it just make or buy some leather vambraces that attaches by string/paracord and stitch the plates onto the leather.
The reason I suggest vambraces is because simply stitching some metal wire (like bicycle gear wire) down the length of the vambraces completely nullifies any knife slash taken to that area so adding this on top of that design should give good dispersion for blunt trauma as well out along the base plate of these things.

I haven't seen such poorly constructed and incomprehensible wording for a long time and really don't get what you said at all!
I take it that english is maybe not your first language. Apologies if that is the case.
