Hello! I really wanted to thank you for this wonderful and complete tutorial! I think the secret is to stitch in and out the zipper and then it's getting the right shape easily... I made some zipper flowers just with glue and they got messy and ugly and it was very very hard and time consuming to force the zipper into that shape with a lot of glue :D so, thank you again for this idea!

Not to ask a stupid question, but could you tell me what a slip stitch is? I like the curly effect it added. It seems like it makes it easier as opposed to using a flat zipper.

@ametallichick THe zipper is flat. You just stitch in and out along the non-tooth side of the zipper and when you get to the end, you pull the thread so it bunches up. Hope that helps. TFW

Too cute, thanks for posting. As a seamstress, I have a ton of unused zippers in a drawer.  I plan to cut them into two pieces and, viola, zippers for two flowers.

I think the nylon zippers would work also, and put a little different spin on your flowers.

@pvonsparty I think it was about 24". Different sizes will work. The flowers will just be different sizes.

Love this!! I just looked up your phrase "strips of zipper" at Joann's. They only showed me the regular type zippers. Did you cut your zipper apart?

@Teeisme314 Thanks. I found it at JoAnn's in the store. They sell it by the yard in the cream color. There might be other colors but that is the only one I found. Also, you can buy zippers in all different lengths for sewing. I hope that helps. TFW Laura
