Tacomas are great trucks! Especially this generation ( up to 04). Built like an old school Mercedes. You see them all over the Middle East and the Carribian, WAY overloaded and pressed into the most extreme type of service normal people would never ask of their trucks, and they just don't fail!
honestly people that argue over trucks take it too seriously. its cool to argue in a fun rivalry way which i do sometimes but some people get so pissed. if a truck is a good truck i am not going to deny it simply because it isnt domestic. my dad has had several ford rangers and those little SOB's all went 240k+ easily and still ran well when he sold them. every company has its good and bad and the tacoma is definitely a good. in fact im looking into buying one here very soon :)
ill never say a toyo aint a real truck cuz they have proven themselves but i own a ford bronco and shes a beast of a truck, and my 7.5 liter 460 went an amazing 608,000 miles when she blew im a mechanic so im sure that helped cuz i dont ignore a sound like alot of my customers lol dont hate on other car/truck companies it wont prove anything besides ur ignorance, i tell the chevy.ford.dodge guys the same shit dont worry, just have fun off roading guys!!
Nice, I'm sure that hill looks way steeper in real life than it looks on vid too. I'm all about people who wheel for REAL in stock vehicles. Exact opposite of all the poser vids on youtube of built up trucks/jeeps/suvs "wheeling" their rigs over some random landscaping boulder in a mall parking lot.
I own a 01 taco trd 4x4 ex. cab and have never had a problem with it (great trucks), but in all honesty... i could peddle up that hill on my Schwinn bicycle.
Yah man cuz people around the world think Ford is better than TOYOTA. I work at a used car dealer and I am so sick of american cars. They freakin just fall apart on us and it is so hard to sell them. If you are some hick then I'm sorry. You'll never know any better.
I don't think people around the world think Fords are better... only people in America. I agree with you..I'm a mechanic and I don't even work on North American vehicles anymore because they are just a bad joke.
@toyota4x4canadaguy Are you kidding? American trucks are the toughest trucks in the world. Don't even try to tell me that a Toyota could out-haul a Dodge or Chevy. Now the Japs are trying to copy our engines. Nissan Titan with it's 5.7? That's a fucking Dodge engine. You claim to be a mechanic, but I've worked on my Dodge. I also have cars from Europe and Japan. I didn't even have access to the engine until after I removed the shrouding. American Trucks are the best. Euro = best cars.
@tomcatdcn your pretty dumb dude, first of the nissan has a 5.6 the tundra on the other had has a 5.7 and its not a dodge engine its toyota, chevy made the original 350, or 5,7 engine. people these days smh
@tomcatdcn Your a jackass. Since when does Toughness=hauling capacity.
Toyota Tacomas are designed and built in the USA, with 70%+ domestic parts. Maybe your just sore because my Tacoma will run forever your your "American" trucks will shit the bed at 150K. Oh btw...your precious "American" trucks are being outsourced more and more ever day.
@DRZSuzook you obviously don't know shit about what you're talking about. because I own a dodge durango that's been running perfect and has 200k on it. oh and it still pulls like the day I bought it. maybe I will make a video of it mudding and offroading. It's also fun roasting all the toyota fags who think they're cool .
Ok, i watched your vids and if you think your "Ford" can make it up that hill in 2wd you are smoking some really good shit. I am not anti or pro chevy or ford, but i have broken down in a lot more fords than chevys. Me personally.... 5 toyotas in a row (1985,88,94,98,01) and never broke down once. Oh, and watch my vids if you want to see a 3.4L jap designed/ U.S. built truck that will spank either of your trucks on their best day. p.s. even my truck w/400+rwhp would need 4x4 to make it up that.
i dont even remember making this comment i do respect toyotas they are good i just prefer american body styles. i must have been smoking something dude my bad hah. but yeah my ford (my 87 i just sold) could have made it up that hill no problem but no two wheel drive. maybe if i got a running start. but yeah my bad, maybe my bro was on my account and did that.
as long as you have 4x4 and decent tires almost anything could get up that hill,, it all depends on the driver!! As for reliability, Tacoma all the way!!!
anyone with a tacoma ever experience a rattling or knocking sound during cold start ups after the truck hasn't been driven for like more than 12 hours? it happens to my 02 2.7 Litre. i think the top end isn't getting lubricated enough. the sound only lasts for a few seconds, only does it in the cold...i know it's not a rod knock
try going Synthetic engine oil, I don't plug my block heater in sometimes and I start my 3.4 in -30 degree weather and its fine. As long as you give it time to warm up it should be fine.
yup...the older ones are better with that V6 little moster...we have a 99 taco V6 with more then 350k and runs like a champ...we even tow our 10 foot trailer with it! lol...looks so funny
lol yea.... more pro off roaders for like comps an wat not use the old ones...they have a span in the semi new ones that were just shit for off road.... i think they improved a lot
lool hahahahah yea ..... the old sr5's were good.... they they had some nasty ass trucks.....new models look ok but not sure on there off road deals yet.....goin to go for a test drive in my friends 09 4x4 soon
nah man i didnt mean to say i hate them its just i tihnk the older models were made better. idk if its just me but i personally think the new tacomas body look ugly. something about it that makes it too plasticy. i love these SR5's in this video though.
I got a 2003 double cab, its amazing. First thing i would do is black out the windows, stock is 20% privacy and up front is glass. i got 5% all around, whole front windshield too, it took a while to get used to but its cool. cops dont really mess with me much.
lol, same here cops dont really mess with me either. im have white and asian, and whenever im driving in huntington beach, i feel like no cop cares what i do, but when i go to some asian district area, they always all over my shit. the cops in my area where i live are cool to me, but not other places
They are only expensive cuz they are the best trucks on the road i love my 05 it is a wonderful truck and to anyone that is thinking of getting on trust me get it you will have no regrets
i have to agree on that. Manuals last alot longer too. Its why i love these Trucks, I put 500,000 Miles on a 95Taco never had problems with the engine or tranny. regular tune up is all it needed and brakes
@toysupra21 I'd rather have the automatic. It gives me 2 less things to have to operate (clutch, shifter), helping me concentrate more on driving.
