  • This is my boyfriends and mines song. We were laying in bed at around 3 at night listening to this song. Nothing was happening, We just laid side by side with the light of the tv on. We let the night surround us. His arm around my waist, listening to Remember That Night DVD on a tiny twin bed. As we both fell asleep. I will always remember that night. <3

  • Simplemente genial

  • @Pachulih I love him- clearly the best is an opinion- i won't argue about opinions-

  • Holy guitar solo

  • Comment removed

  • Crosby & Nash???????? SO MUCH EUPHORY FOR ME :D

  • 3:16 quase gozo com o solo.

  • I love his voice! :D

  • LRPMQLMP! piel de gallina andate!!!!y no vuelvas!

  • What pickups using David Gilmour ? Great sound.

  • If he'd like, he could say: "My name is David Gilmour. But I was once known as Pink Floyd."

    Tough guy!

  • give some credit to david crosby and graham nash... its amazing to see the best guitarist in the world bext two the best vocalists in the world (gilmour has a beautiful voice too). this performance is incredible!

  • Gilmour looks as though he belongs behind the steering wheel of a bus, but by God, that man can deliver the goods on that Strat. A different guitarist.....different, better.

  • im crying

  • i got high. without drugs.

  • They will live forever

  • i heard this song on TV when I was 16, and it just shocked me. But unfortunately I forgot to remember the name of this song. Finally, on the 21th year of my life, I find you.

  • kurwa ... Nie mam słów do opisania tego co robi Gilmour ...:)

    rewelacja ! :)

  • Funny how in High School my friend Sean and I were the two Mr.Pink Floyds! I looked like young Roger and Sean looked like young Dave. Sean introduced me to Pink Floyd with four albums he put on two cassettes that were only 60 minutes each so I didn't get all the songs. We even had the resty of the band, The Pink Floyd at Monterey High. Dave,Derek, and Murdoch were Nick,Rick, and Syd! Funny how things turned out. The four of us still keep in touch at times. We've all known each other since 1985.

  • For me Pink Floyd is Roger waters for his lyrics contribution, Nick mason because we was the only drummer of the band and me he is amazing, Richard wright because his space sound and personality, and david gilmour because every solo is just amazing, Syd barret´s phase is not so good as everybody says, not comparing with ALL pink floyd albums after syd

  • Beautiful...

  • I almost cried... All the time Gilmour played- specially in his 2nd solo, i had shivers going up and down my body.

Gilmour is my favorite guitar player, and he will always be!

  • The craziest grandfathers alive and walking the earth today !

  • This song will grow on you!

  • This is awesome!!

  • The dreamy methotical stuff that puts you in another world--favorite muscians of all time. Never will tire of them.

  • thank you gilmour for sharing your gift with the world

  • the real stars!

  • I agree with danielnradu completely.

  • Outstanding player. Good to see him and Roger starting to warm up a bit lately.

  • Those harmonies are comically good.

  • when i see pictures of david gilmour ( when hes older like this), he has a longer head, but when i see videos its like he has a wide rounded head.... which fits his rounded voice and smooth playing

  • on the way to the island... lets learn to fly.. shine on

  • even crosby and stills are blown away by gilmour. watching them get into his guitar, after all they have seen and done themselves, brings a tear to my eye (not to mention their otherworldly backing vocals), woops, i mean graham nash, not steven stills, although he would react the same and he is a badass guitarist in his own right.

  • even crosby and stills are blown away by gilmour. watching them get into his guitar, after all they have seen and done themselves, brings a tear to my eye (not to mention their otherworldly backing vocals),

  • holy shit. that solo just made me cum! how embarrasing.

  • it is very very nice!

  • A great example that you dont need to play a million notes a second to be one of the greatest guitarist in the world thank you for your music Mr. Gilmour

  • 234fcvgy5tyy

  • He's having sex with my ears

  • so many people think that the meaning of playing guitars is playing a solo with a lot of notes, and a day you put up a division bell disc and ..... your conception of music is revolutioned. You hear a man that let you feel sensations that are hidden in your soul with a couple of notes that create the time to let you delight the music.

Listen to David touching the strings is like hearing the soft sound of the sea in a summer's morning while the sunlight irradiate your tearing eyes

  • @levradio Couldn't have said it better...

  • @Andrew598895 Hey man pleaseeeeeeeeeee don't take it bad!!! Please go and put the DIVISION BELL album and keep on listening on and on ....; keep on listening on and on then you come..;

This album is very powerful man.. how could everybody can't see that... go and listen you will see.. the solo are very trance mood as if you are in space or in an imaginary world !!!!!

  • Excelente !!!!! Great !!!!! ......

  • The harmonies in this are helped along by David crosby and Graham Nash,

  • Love

  • Bravo David Gilmour!

  • DEMAIS, UMA MELODIA QUE ALÍVIA, TRAZ CALMA. TRANQUILIDADE...

    MÚSICA MUITA LINDA

  • They sing such amazing harmonies! This song is just amazing! People one question- Why do you keep comparing things just enjoy music! Music is there for us to enjoy so make use of what we have in this world, the music we love and that are great inspiring bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Queen and stuff! Let ROCK stay with us forever! R.I.P Rick Wright and Syd barret!

  • Guys I can tell you that Gilmore was so far ahead of his time when he was in Pink Floyd that most of the best guitarists of the 70's, 80's and onwards got their inspiration from him. Do youself a favour and get the CD if you like this song as it is classic Gilmore with plenty of overtones of Pink Floyd

  • @Ozdog08 ''guys i can tell you that gilmour was so far ahead of his time...''nope!!!he is still far away even today my fellow!!!I haven't found yet anyone playing with so much soul and so... let's say differently..

  • @MongoTheLloyd if gilmour didn't join pink floyd when sid left pink floyd would have been dead a long time ago.when gilmour joined the band sounded better all of a sudden no offence to sid lol.have you heard roger try and sing nowadays?he sounds like 90 year old, gilmour is still going strong he is clearly the best guitar player of all time.

  • @20symo09 Gilmour and Waters are not even comparable to Syd (and not Sid, mind you). Barrett has framed both musical, and lyrical perfection. While that is true, his work with the Floyd was of poor quality compared to what he later did as a solo artist, but definitely better than all the albums that followed including TDSoM, WYWH, Animals, The Wall and TDB. About the Gilmour/Waters dispute, they're both great musicians, they both contributed to the sound "equally".

  • @20symo09 Si. Es verdad.

  • @20symo09 Syd did not leave floyd, he was proving impossible to work with so they got gilmour in for live shows to play alongside Syd, things got progressivly worse and he was fired in 1968, he was a genius lyricist and song writer, but LSD and depression got the better of him, as good as Gilmour is he has to thank Syd for launching Floyd, Waters was the creative genius behind Dark Side and The Wall, to say one is better than the other is the wrong way to be looking at Floyd

  • @20symo09 is no best...but he is quite awesome

  • @gumbyonacid he's the best...

  • bellissimaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa un capolavorooooooooooooooo

  • This song is about Kastelorizo, a remote greek island were David has a house.

  • mario mutis de los jaivas haciendo voces¡¡'? xd¡¡

  • Can you belive that rolling stones magazine has David Gilmour in the 80's raking as top guitar!!!! 80´s!!!!! wtf!!! Kourt is in top ten!!! wtf -_-"

    ""

  • Crosby and Nash (from CSNY) sings here but nobody is talking about them!

  • @kingofskateop....... ill talk about them, as far as im concerned putting crosby and nash together with gilmour is equivelent to a musical dream team...awesome harmonies...great song

  • I think, Dave is over the time, always sou good, always the best.

  • 10 people are backstreet boys fans. How can you not like Gilmour's music ??

  • yo era cenizas, te escuche y volvi a arder ..... !!!

    grande entre los grandes ...

  • he got increadible voice and amazing guitar

  • An underrated guitar master...

  • This song is so precious and beautiful, I love the lyrics...and specially this live version!

  • Choon!

  • DAVID GILMOUR - THE VOICE AND GUITAR OF PINK FLOYD

  • Crosby and Nash sound so good on this song, which must be the ultimate chill out song. I never get fed up of ths great music. I can do about six things at once too !

  • DAVID IS AMAZING AND INCREDIBLE,I LOVE HIS GUITAR PLAY AND HIS VOICE , BOGO FROM POLAND.

  • awesome....ok let me tak a big breath.....Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, and Gilmour.....could have been...would have worked...na...lets stick to mm both separete:)

  • song drug about the sea

  • is that crosby stills and nash?

  • @MongoTheLloyd

What is your damn problem man? You sure spend a lot of time on here bitching about David Gilmore... We get it, you don't like him. Me, hes one of my musical heros, I have huge respect for him. I don't see why you cant show any respect for anyone else here you bitter ass hole. Here you go, results?search_query=roger+waters&aq=f , put that in and you get all the Roger Waters you want, its that easy. Go.

  • @YourOldGlory No kidding! I've usually been a Waters fan over Gilmour's, but we gotta remember that without each other, the Pink Floyd that has captivated so many of us for so long would never have been invented or played by anyone. There would be no Comfortably Numb, for instance. Personally, "On An Island" is what brought me back to David Gilmour as a fan recognizing and remembering his compositions, as did seeing Roger perform The Wall in Las Vegas in 2010. Consummate showmen, these guys!

  • @eightyfeettall You are wrong man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Totally wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Division Bell is one of the most valuable album than On An Island..... How could you dare to say such things.... All Pink Floyd's fans have been influenced on DIVISION BELL because the album itself is so powerful and their's no words dor that....

How can you said that : ''"On An Island" is what brought me back to David Gilmour as a fan recognizing and remembering his compositions''

  • @alan220781 Nope! As I said, "On and Island" brought me back... Division Bell? I've got it! The point is, I was divided as a child, but have come back to the important nature of EVERYONE'S compositions in the band as to what FIRST made it what it is now. I can see clearly, and love them all equally. It's the whole that matters, not the squabbles.

  • @eightyfeettall David gilmour could have join any band and made it great but thank god he joind pink floyd and made it fantasic

  • @JAT763 David Crosby and Graham Nash. Two of the best voices of this and the previous century, and the most amazing harmonies I've ever heard. Yep. That's them.

  • very ugly song try roosterfighting alex gmc gamefarm

  • @kertkiturze dude, that's just shit!

  • Everyone shut the fuck up, if you wanna argue, then go away... Show some fucking respect to this masterpiece!

  • @MongoTheLloyd

    Ok kid, whatever you say....

Oh, and listen to Parachutes and A Rush Of Blood To The Head, that's what is good from Coldplay anyway and that's where I took my name from...

Go home play with your toys now...

  • @MongoTheLloyd

  • There are many fruit flies here with attention spans to match ,, pink floyd and all its members have allways been story tellers , Verbaly and thru their instruments,, there is not a story that can be told by screaming ,,, hence their style

  • @brb0713 TZo tell stories, one would have to actually WRITE a song(s). Gilmour had 3 (three) whole individual credits for songs he wrote... with 21 co-credits for DSOTM to TFC. Waters had over ten times the individual credits that Gilmour had, 37 (thirty-seven) credits, with 21 co-credits.

If Gilmour was telling a story... it would have been a real short one. Perhaps written for the short-bus crowd.

  • @MongoTheLloyd , i suppose mongo is shithead for asshole

  • @MongoTheLloyd No im sure its shithead for asshole , maybe the other way ,, either way your boring ,, Buh Bye jr

  • @MongoTheLloyd All this coming from Mongoloid ,, Nice,,,,,,,,,,, This what happens when Bieber beliebers are allowed to play on their mommies computers while mommie cranks one out on the couch to 50 cent...Hint Justin wears his ladies pants down around his knees to give instant access for beliebers ,, Your gonna be eatin high on the hog tonight,,,,,, PS do fuck off but never die , i want you suffering in GaGa hell forever

  • The Pink Floyd will be nothing without Gilmour, Waters, and Wright

  • @MongoTheLloyd *Golfclap* I'm glad wikipedia gave you some ammunition to cont being a douchbag. To call Roger Waters the talent of pink floyd is the most ignorant thing to say, but douchebags like you assume that because Waters wanted to wander off and jerk himself off to his feelings of alienation. Thanks Roger, we liked The Wall, but performing it live today only because you have the rights is the most sellout thing to do. We like the wall, but get over yourself...both of you.

  • @MongoTheLloyd You're sooo wrong. David is still making good music, but Roger... what is he doing now? The Wall, The Wall... bla, bla, bla... He can't even sing. Get over it. Roger was a great artist, but he's a joke of himslef, a "parodia".

  • Lolol David Gilmour is a great guitarist who developed his own style. If ANYONE from the Pink Floyd is a sell out it would be Roger waters and his boner for The Wall. Regardless, a great album from a great songwriter. Keep the dough rollin in...

  • w...t.....f are u chuckleheads talking about. David Gilmour has a right to every bit of acclaim and fame he has received. Even HE admits that as a guitarists he does not have the speed that others had hence, he had to develop his own style. Excuse me, but Elvis Presley didn't write 90% of his songs. There are A LOT of musicians out there that do not write most or even all of their music. So, shut it and get it up ya about David Gilmour.

  • @chef4cook Speed? what exactly does speed have to do with quality guitar playing? Nothing? Nothing at all?? Then why mention it, cretin. Yes... I am sure even David Gilmour admits that he isn't a great guitarist. If this song is any measure... I am sure he would also admit that he and his wife cannot write songs for SHITE. Yes, many musicians do not write their own music,... but then again, they also do not tour, play Waters songs as their own, and write crappy new songs under someone's brand.

  • Слушаю пинк флойд очень давно, есть много очень серьезных музыкальных групп, но пинк флойд и Гилмор одни такие и подобного никогда не было и не будут, реально № 1

  • This is divine, just blessed music. Crosby, Nash, Gilmour ahhhhhhh.

  • and rolling stone gave this album a 2/5 .... -- gr8 record!

  • @deviatea, fuck Rolling Stone. They don't know what good music is any more.

  • @jemimakahn Rolling Stone hasn't known what good music is since 1978 - proven fact.

  • @antibimbo21 , exactly, couldn't agree more.

  • @jemimakahn olrayt!!! pink floyd FOREVER!!!

  • Amazing !!!!

  • w t f......amazing....out of words...

  • DAVID IS THE BEST THERE EVER WILL BE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Fabuloso!

  • good to see Crosby & Nash still have that harmony down pat; now THAT was a talented trio in their day -CSN

  • LOL pcgouty. hammermg needs to find a tall building and hurl himself out the window.

  • Gilmour is pathetic. There should be a law against his music. I can't imagine more depressing music. Opera sounds better.

  • @MongoTheLloyd Gilmour is a great musician, he joined pink floyd approached by nick mason, anyway Gilmour and Barret were friends from school. I dont mind if he wasnt a founding member, apart from founding the band, is most important what he contributed to the band. David Gilmour is as resposable of pink floyd success as Roger Waters is. I think they both, Richard Wright and Barret too were importat members to make pink floyd the most influential band in the world. My enhlish is not good, sorry.

  • @esteban6cuerdas Gilmour is not a "great musician". He is an average guitarist who fell into a band that had musical genius: Waters and Syd. Waters music and sheer luck created David Gilmour. If you want to taklk about Gilmour's sound... give credit where credit is due: to Hiwatt, perhaps Fender, and likely very good sound engineers that developed that sound FOR Gilmour. If I plug my rig into a Hiwatt, add a little compression, some echo, wah and uni-vibe, I can get the same PF sound.

  • @MongoTheLloyd Dude Glimore isnt a Technical guitarist but he can play and write with more feeling than anybody i know of...i have been playing guitar for 26 years mostly tech thrash and deathmetal, so i know he isnt the most Technical player but his writeing skills are amazing and saying he isnt a great musician is just silly..plus i consider his voice as much the voice of Floyd as waters any day!! I mean comfortably numb wouldnt be anything without Gilmore.

  • @MongoTheLloyd Alright DUDE whatever you say man, i wont argue with a know it all, just my 2cents..But i doubt you even play an instrument anyway after reading your posts, your probably some 12 year old spamming the net just to get attention.

  • @TheWesx Good. You shouldn't try to argue with a know-it-all, from what I see... "dude". Uh... think lower. At .02 cents, your contribution is overpriced. Yeah... 12... because Lord knows, 12 year olds object to idiotic "dude" conversations. (roll eyes here).

Pardon me while I laugh at you... not with you.

  • @MongoTheLloyd Your a pretty funny guy DUDE =D real musicians dont put other musicians down, so right there your .2 cents is worth less then mine =D

  • *looking at this*

    *looking at related videos*

    *looking at this again*

    screw it i'm replaying

  • i hope they make some sort of time capsule age preventing machine cause david gilmour needs to be around for enternity, this man is a damn legend i only hope i get to see you in concert sometime soon

  • David Gilmour >>>> Clapton

Even Lindsey Buckingham is better than Clapton

  • makes me want to fire one up

  • god could you imagine playing with these guys....i would seriously cry at every show

  • There is a GOD!!!

  • @TheAlmaVasquez Yes and 3 of them are onstage (love that high note by Graham Nash).

  • Just listening to his music is the perfect sound. Everytime i hear it i drift off into a place of harmony and satisfaction of happiness. if he ever tours again im there 100%.

  • @SuperMitch1970 Gilmour's music is pathetic. Extremely depressing. Elevator music sounds better.

  • Comment removed

  • @hammermg1

You sir, know nothing about music.

And by the looks of it, you sure are a big fucking idiot.

  • @pcgouty The more you feed the trolls, the more they shit. Just ignore 'em and enjoy what you enjoy.

  • come to Argentina PLEASEEEEEEE!!! C`on!!!!!

  • Please David, COME TO POLAND ! :(

  • He (D. Gilmore) can go one forever. Cool to have David Crosby as backing vocal. (d. Crosby was a member of "Crosby, Still, Young and Nash")

  • @MrSwiftnick David Crosby AND Graham Nash onstage if you please! lol

  • Good but for perfection it need's Roger Water's correction's I think ^^ :))

  • @GIOZEPMASTER gtfo dude...this is DAVID GILMOUR got it?

  • @GIOZEPMASTER yea man, wtf ?

  • @GIOZEPMASTER I don't. They've talked about it, their are not musically compatible anymore.

  • Bravo!

  • 7 personas tienen problemas auditivos

  • Awesome song... I'm convinced the voice of God comes from David Gilmour's fingers

  • Better than the 90's Pink Floyd

  • My God!

  • Well maybe not bad music in the 70s, but in my opinion disco really sucked.

  • Love the fact that such amazing music could be made in a time of really bad music. And such is the case now with Devin Townsend carrying on this sort of legacy in a time of worthless music.

  • a beaty song, i love that song and the album.

  • ese solo no tiene madre ya con sus años no ha perdido nada de tecnica
