I have the same system except the cassette player won't play. The motor works and the belts are there. Whenever I try to play a cassette the motor won't engage the belts any answers?
hey guys i have a 1998 Panasonic stereo system has a 50 cd holder and two mic jac karake, 3d space sound and super woofer speaker sub, the model is a SA-AK9, what does something like that go for
I have this player in my workshop. I found it on the side of the road . I destroyed the cabinet it was in and the speakers too used them for fire wood. I ended up using old pioneer speakers. Its ok for what it is.
Does the back come off by any chance? They probably put cheap full-range drivers with super cheap tweeters and mids in those boxes. I used to have lots of speakers like this but I eather gave em away or blew them for fun.
thats funny whin i was 5 yers old my sister and my 3 brother got this same stereo my mom got it for us for a christmas present one year . my parents got it from k mart new for $200.00 . im now 22 yers old. next month june 12 is my birthday i will be 23 yers old. that stereo look filmiuler to me LOL ...
I have that same sterro which I bought new for $169 dollars in the spring of 1989. It came with a remote control do you have yours...........mine has been a great unit and has held up to my use for 20 years.....which goes to prove it is not as flimsy as it looks
These units are good as far as they go, but remember they were aimed at the budget end of the market - flimsy plastic build, especially the turntable, and usually a single motor cassette deck with crude mechanics. The speakers look great though!
you may find that a cheap universal remote of the '10-in-1' type will control this system - look in the local bargain store.
Awesome! I had the a late '70s Panasonic with turntable, receiver & 8-track all in one. Mine had all knobs, and no LED. If I remember correctly, it cost $249 new. When it finally died, I took the cord off before tossing it and eventually put it on a Polar Cub! :) I'm still using the speakers to this day though. Bet you'll have a lot of fun with this--great find & nice video!
I checked out your stereo vid--cool! Yours is a little different from mine, mine had the tuner at the right and the tape slot on the left, and it had fake woodgrain on the sides. I think yours is a little fancier & maybe older with a couple more knobs, too! Does yours still have a dust cover, or did it ever?
yeah i have the dust cover that goes over the turntable! it was a christmas gift to my mom and aunt back in the early 70's~ my grandpa only bought the best most expencive stuff he could afford the few times he did buy stuff new. usually he would get stuff used to save money
My great grandfather had a set like that. I think it may have even been the same model! I always loved the reversed LCD display with white numbers on a blue background.
i had that stereo and the light on the display blue so i hooked up 3 christmas lights to it. the left side of the screen was blue and the right side was pink and i had a light on the record cover so i can see it in the dark. i kinda miss that rigged up thing lol. ty 4 showing that

That tuner looks just like a Technics ST-Z990, right down to the preset buttons. Pretty good find for $13.
