Everybodys talking about solo of "Stairway of Heaven" or "November Rain", but people the solo in here is way ahead of this solos, made by Rudolf Schenker! Truly underrated masterpiece!
When I was young I was a Scorp freak and my two older boys enjoy their music, not as much as I did, but it feels pretty cool to share taste in music with your kids
I lost myself watching the stars listening to this song full blast on top of my car.just watching the night sky. Felt i was part of the universe....awesome song!
i really know a lot of people who likes this rock ballad ,very much, indeed a masterpiece and this will resist in time like any of Shakespeare works,or Goethe,,,,cause time it;s the esential factor who told as the value of (here on earth)pretty much ,anything........AND I LOVE THIS BALLAD MORE AND MORE,,,,,,,,
Nobody did power ballads like the scorpions. this is their best one. The guitar solo at the end is masterful. So beautiful yet powerful. Check out the other version from Moment of Glory...that one is nice, too.
I guess I am in a small class of people that actually got to see this live in 1980 right after they released this album. They opened for Ted Nugent (Wango Tango Album) at the colliseum in Seattle. They just blew the doors off and they were better that the Motor City Madman. It was such an great concert. i was there with my college girlfriend. She is the one that turned me onto the Scorpions. Thank Kim. Now where are you after all these years. I was 19 and she was 18. Where are you Kim?
This is one of my favorite rock ballads of all time. It reminds me of a girl friend named Kim that i met at College. I remember the first day i seen her. I was 18 first few days of school. My buddy and i were hanging out on the balcony that surrounded the tables below that everyone gathered (student union building). She wore this nice tight black skirt with a white blouse and black top hat. I told my buddy as soon as i seen her. "There is my new girlfriend" he laughed. I went out with her 2 yrs
Forever live the Scorpions, love you guys. Thanks for posting this fab song. 2 dislike must be lost X factor fans. This is what real music sounds like.
I also can relate with the stories below. My date goes back further. back to 1980 when this album first came out. I was in my first yr of College and met this gal named Kim. She really loved this band and turned me onto it big time. We even went and seen them play this album in concert in 1980 they opened for Ted Nugent's Wango Tango album. Now every time i hear this i cannot help but remember that beautiful blonde. 31 yrs later where are you now Kim?
1984, Walking home from Robbs house, could feel ther pouring rain beading off my leather jacket. Walked to Chrissys house, stayed there for about 30 minutes, just holding her, listening to this song. Back then that was enough. Left her house, back into the rain to finish my walk home. That is a great memory for me.
@mach1franco I can totally relate to the type of feeling you are describing. I have a similar story from the summer of 1981 in El Paso, TX with my then soon-to-be girlfriend, Jamie Morrow. Whenever I hear this song it immediately transports me back to that time and those feelings. Lady Starlight is an almost unbearably beautiful song.
@gwyneth00 Chrissy was my girlfriend for such a short time, but still think of her daily. Seem like yesterday, but how the time has passed. She is still a friend, but the time we had together was great. this song fits our past perfect.
i was 17 when i met my at the time 23 year old love of my life ,she was so pretty
i fell in love ,i was already enlisted to go into the army upon graduation of high school, i went into the army as a medic, and decided that this is what i want to do with my life, she being a doctor supported this
she and i had an argument that caused me to leave my house

Can someone please tell me why there is no live video of this most amazing ballad. I cannot believe they do not play this every show. Everyone would love it.
This is absoultly one of the very best Power Ballads ever recorded that NEVER is on any power ballad compulation disk or played on the radio. What a shame! Everyone should have their loved one in their arms and slow dancing with her or him held tight in each others arms. This song just melts my heart like no other.

i went to the fire station to cool off
i heard over the radio at the station that there had been an accident,
i volunteered to go
i arr ived at the sight to find that it my was my wife involved with the accident
i lost my wife at the sight of the accident
i delivered my daughter at the same time as my beloved wife died and "STARLA" was born
my fault entirely,
lesson to be learned is dont go away mad
