  • Had an Air Force buddy tell me he used to see the Hawkeye go through Freeport IL back in the late 1960s.

  • i started to model the IC passenger trains but the availiable cars thats out are not correct and not the right color. Decided to model the Milwaukee Road/ UP City of Los Angeles

  • Great train--i'm still deciding on what what IC train i'll be modeling.

  • Nice work. And a tip of the engineer's cap for modeling a secondary passenger train- everyone likes the flagship trains and anyone with the dough can get a fine painted brass set of the headliner varnish(the Panama on the IC for example) but to model a maid of all work like the Hawkeye shows initiative and research. Again, kudos for a fine job.

  • Thank you very much!!

  • @BenAliGtor Um, the Hawkeye wasn't a "Secondary" train to us here where it served! Just because it wasn't the CONO or PL, don't mean it was secondary!

    Great modeling!!

  • good video! great to see the new walthers ic flexi van flats in service, i know the hawkeye occasionally ran with a e8 but 90% of the time it ran with two steam generator equipped gp9's & the majority of the consist was heavy wieght coaches , not to sure if the hawkeye carried a sleeper during the mid to late 60's & early 70's. but hey it looks really good!, gonna get me a few of those flexi van flats to model the ic's seminole. wish walthers would come out with a ic heavy weight bagge car!
