To remove the holy trinity you need to remove the classical "this guy got aggro and take 90% of the dmg" Ofc you can keep it in normal mobs but on boss fights there is going to be like wow exept the boss is random targeting people and people have to dodge/block/roll out of the way when the boss attack. This is better cause your group will never whipe cause of the tank failed or the healer went afk. If you die you die cause of you dident use your selfheal or you dident dodge the massive attack

Saying smash brothers is not competitive is just wrong. SSBM is up there with SC:BW in terms of skill cap and competitiveness. Anyone that uses the map bans as evidence sounds just as stupid as someone saying starcraft isn't a competitive game because blizzard maps like steppes, delta, blistering sands, and d. oasis are now banned. (oh yeah, kulas too) A game not designed to be competitive doesn't mean it's not, look at SC:BW. As for character bans, there are none.

The PC is certainly a more powerful, and thus "better', gaming machine than consoles. However, making generalizations about its players will usually result in being incorrect.
@EmoShmoul All that power of the PC is wasted though. No company designs a game anymore to take advantage of the additional power due to cross-platform releases with 360. Same with PS3. Even if you do, only a handful of people can run it and you screw yourself over as a company (Crysis 1). Unless you charge like double for premo HD game like Crysis to make up for it. I mean if you can afford the $3000 PC... I played Hot Pursuit on PS3 and my PC. Zero difference.

I love my PC since I upgraded the graphics card the only problem I have is I can't sit at my PC for a long time as I start getting uncomfortable, I can't afford a expensive comfortable chair so I tend to play more on my Xbox 360 as I can lay down on my bed while playing. I wish more developers would support cross platform multiplayer because this would bridge the gap between PC and Console gamers and would be so fun :)
I think I might favor this video for whenever I need strobe lights for a rave party I'll never throw. ;) Anyway, I enjoy certain types of games on the PC--FPSs are a little easier to handle, in my opinion, with a mouse and keyboard. But certain games are just tailored to consoles that are highly enjoyable (Lost Odyssey is a great RPG for XBox) as part of that console community. Interesting video TB, thank you.

the Trinity's flaws are epitomized in World of Warcraft, we see many a people who are built up to super massive egos because of whichever role they belong to, so much so that they are intrusive, oppressive, and in a few scenarios abusive. The idea of the trinity and rewarding the lesser represented role/roles breeds a worse play base for each role and overall hurts the multi-player aspects of the game. This is from my perspective as a tank/dps- while what i say may not always hold true, i see it
Since i'm a moderator on a quite popular server (mostly 70-125 people on at a time) of minecraft i can easily confirm that the minecraft community is in fact obnoxious. I have to deal with hundreds of little kids yelling the same question all day every day, and when i answer. They just ask it again and again untill i go crazy and log off. However, it is also a very thankful community, once you do something for them they will give back in tons of appreciation for you.

To the first guy: I play a lot of games on the PC and I use Xpadder to use my PS3 controller as my main input (depending on the game) and I connect my PC to my 40 inch LCD TV via HDMI (formerly VGA, just got around to buying the cable), so.. There go his arguments
As far as graphics go, I don't mind what they look like unless they take away from my enjoyment of the game, and a lot of times I might be bothered by the graphics when I start the game but as I play I forget about them and just enjoy the game. With Minecraft I was more concerned about the blocks and not being able to achieve what I wanted with them rather than the actual graphics.
I personally don't like to say my opinion when I'm talking about stuff it's become this stupid thing on the internet where everyone has to say "In my opinion" before they say anything. i followed borderlands since its reveal in GI, and i did think the realistic graphics were better than the cartoony ones, just cause the aliens looked awesome.
The trinity needs to go away. It can be done but it'll result in a different style of combat, probably something close to an action-rpg (while still having 15+ abilities to select from unlike the boring 5 or so you get in ARPG's). The trinity is a pen-n-paper concept and after 20 years RPG's are still designed almost entirely on PnP concepts. Mages can only wear cloth armor. Seriously? Clerics can't use swords. Really? Those are fine balance/flavor mechanics for PnP but we have computers now!

There is a difference betwen ARTISTICALLY good graphics and TECHNICALLY good graphics. For example, when people think WoW has good graphics,after your chuckle, take a second and realize they dont mean the huge pixels are lovely, they mean the the art style is cool, the colors, ect.

Graphics aren't what make games look good, that's Aesthetics.
But regardless, if the game is good who cares what it looks like. Sure it's nice if it looks good but there are reasons people still play SNES games etc.

the Trinity's flaws are epitomized in World of Warcraft, we see many a people who are built up to super massive egos because of whichever role they belong to, so much so that they are intrusive, oppressive, and in a few scenarios abusive. The idea of the trinity and rewarding the lesser represented role/roles breeds a worse play base for each role and overall hurts the multi-player aspects of the game. This is from my perspective as a tank/dps- while what i say may not always hold true, i see it

Since i'm a moderator on a quite popular server (mostly 70-125 people on at a time) of minecraft i can easily confirm that the minecraft community is in fact obnoxious. I have to deal with hundreds of little kids yelling the same question all day every day, and when i answer. They just ask it again and again untill i go crazy and log off. However, it is also a very thankful community, once you do something for them they will give back in tons of appreciation for you.
But that's just my opinion

To the first guy: I play a lot of games on the PC and I use Xpadder to use my PS3 controller as my main input (depending on the game) and I connect my PC to my 40 inch LCD TV via HDMI (formerly VGA, just got around to buying the cable), so.. There go his arguments

As far as graphics go, I don't mind what they look like unless they take away from my enjoyment of the game, and a lot of times I might be bothered by the graphics when I start the game but as I play I forget about them and just enjoy the game. With Minecraft I was more concerned about the blocks and not being able to achieve what I wanted with them rather than the actual graphics.

I personally don't like to say my opinion when I'm talking about stuff it's become this stupid thing on the internet where everyone has to say "In my opinion" before they say anything. Chances are if I say something it's my opinion, people should have the ability to tell for themselves if what I'm saying is my opinion or a fact I'm quoting, I'm not going to dumb down for them. Little rant about people saying IMO or IMHO all the freaking time over.

I am a complete Console hater. Why? I just cant imagine myself playing FPS, RPG or RTS on a console, its unbearable for me, it actually RUINS the gaming experience. And the minute u log in a server u hear a bunch of 10year olds whining or playing in servers with no rules whatsoevers, sucks. Things u can avoid in PC. Not saying that the pc community is better, its just AVOIDABLE. Anw, imo if u want MP competition u must play on PC. I still prefer SP games on consoles though

Tb, smash brothers can be played competitively, and coming from someone who has bagged in 400 + hours, it takes more skill than call of duty, and all the crap you play. Having PLAYED wow, it's a fkin joke, the skill required is minimal, maybe try out a game like brawl before criticizing. Wow raids, the highest point in difficulty is moving in coordination with the raid. Get a mic, any idiot can down anyone. Try HON before you dare say pvp takes skill...

The trinity needs to go away. It can be done but it'll result in a different style of combat, probably something close to an action-rpg (while still having 15+ abilities to select from unlike the boring 5 or so you get in ARPG's). The trinity is a pen-n-paper concept and after 20 years RPG's are still designed almost entirely on PnP concepts. Mages can only wear cloth armor. Seriously? Clerics can't use swords. Really? Those are fine balance/flavor mechanics for PnP but we have computers now!

There is a difference betwen ARTISTICALLY good graphics and TECHNICALLY good graphics. For example, when people think WoW has good graphics,after your chuckle, take a second and realize they dont mean the huge pixels are lovely, they mean the the art style is cool, the colors, ect.

I think it's popularity. Look at WoW. I don't think the the community has turned to rubish because of anything Blizzard has done. I just think it's popularity. Look at the actual World. As our population goes up, so does the number of stupid people. The more people that flock to something; the greater number of stupid people are likely to be playing with you. So I think it's just popularity.

You should have a look at "Dofus" i used to play it religiously, there were no roles in that game except for only one class that could heal but other classes could heal simply by equiping a weapon, basically if you could take damage you wold go and take damage, if you couldn't you'd gtfo

I can't fucking stand Meta Game. Diablo II for example, everyone has to play as a fucking hammerden and there is no originality. Call of duty you have to use certain guns and perks. halo you have to use the BR. Guild Wars and WoW you have to use the best build for your class. I can't stand it at all.
