I have to disagree on the "dynamics" issue. The term dynamics should be used in terms of changing pressure to affect volume, as well as accents and moeller. Playing of the backbeat on a different drum/cymbal does not help one develop dynamic control, in much the same way as you should vary stick pressure/velocity on the snare drum rather than play toward the rim. The tern "dynamics" should refer to changing the volume independently of the sound.
hey Phil, I'm Dane, I'm not exactly a beginner I've been playing since i was 9 or so, I'm 13 almost 14 now and i was wondering what kind of drum set you think would be good for one suck as myself?
The DVD was made for a company called Interlink. It is for a work shop we do called Rockin' U. we go to churches all over the country and work with they're youth musicians and help them develop. if your interested in getting the DVD you might try searching interlink on the internet thanks for writing Phil
The video goes over alot of the basics, but it really helps, i liked the whole bit about how you should do some more groovin rather than just doin fills/solos all the time. Nice job!
'practice the groove 99% ... not the fills' ... totally agree ! ... fair play mate
