People you're treating this list like its the end all, be all list, of bad movies. Xanadu and Zardoz become cult classics because there is a lot wrong with them, they were critically panned, but somehow people still find something enjoyable about them. Stop treating these films like sacred cows that shouldn't be slaughtered its undermining the reason they became cult films to begin with.

As others have said, while "Xanadu" was a pretty bad movie overall, the "I'm Alive" sequence deserves applause, not boos. Whether you like the ELO music or not, the choreography is well-done, and the pre-digital special effects were utterly cutting-edge for the time. (The "glowing outline" effects for this scene were also incredibly labor-intensive and costly, taking days or weeks to do what can be done in a few hours with CGI software.)

I'm not certain why the Xanadu (ELO Alive) is even in this. At the time the film flopped, however, later it proved to be a very well scripted musical.

A lot of really bad scenes from really bad movies. (And I recognized the music from Manos in the beginning.)

But why was Xanadu in there? I like that movie, and that particular scene was awesome.

Yeah that was one of the better scenes. There's a lot BAD with that movie and that was the wrong example. Anything to do with dialog and plot development was the horrible stuff. Scenes with Michael Beck and his boss.

Now that movie "THE APPLE" was cheesy bad.

If he wanted a music number to show how bad Xanadu is, he should 've used "All Over the World"; the coolnest of the song is canceled out by the stupid scene.

SLATania's right. The "I'm Alive" sequence in Xanadu is somewhat artistic in a very nouveau way, and it's eye catching especially for the times. The "All Over The World" sequence (though a great ELO song) is just lame.

Most of those are hilarious rather than simply bad. Xanadu is bad, but gotta recognize it as the origin of the glowing neon outline meme.
