If you're talking about the part before the fight, you need to drag that platform across the room to get the key in one of those wells and hit a switch in the other. It takes good timing.
If you talking about during the boss fight, just find one of those elevator-platforms around the honey-moat. Avoid the bees; you can't kill them. Just go after Gustav.
