The biggest problem with the transformers movies isn't the script. It's the freaking robots! They all look like a pile of junk. Not one of them looks cool. Why is it necessary to break them into a billion pieces? Why do all the Decipticons look like demons? And don't get me started on Devastator- what the hell was that? Thx Mr. Bay for ruining a perfectly awesome franchise.

The best part of this movie I liked was Megan Fox. But it was a bad movie for me, the story was not so good and well made, the action to fast not even good, scenes also to fast it was just about going to this place and then another place without telling the story well with pretty massive explosions thats all. The comedy wasn't even funny and the two transformer midgets were so damn annoying along with the mother who wasn't even funny. 6/10

huge didsapointment, while the action and CGI were great ( and more of Starscream, who is my favourite character), the story was silly, the script was crap, and the money could have been put to much better use. for 1 ,by making Megan Fox look like less of a bouncing slab of meat and extreme lense cleaner for the slow motion shots. 6/10 (added 2 marks for the Megatron and Starscream bickering through out)

This was a great movie, IMHO it deserves a 4/5***** arguably, even though it had some flaws and sometimes it had stupid moments like Devastator having BALLS (the 1st time I LOLed, the 2nd I thought it was stupid) but you guys have to remember that this is an ACTION FLICK, meaning it's going to focus alot more in the action, but it could've been better seeing how the 1st movie was GREAT story wise, even so this movie is now ranked as my favorite of 2009 a long with District 9 (great movie BTW!!!)
The first Transformers was just as terrible as this. Just because a film falls into the action category doesn't mean it has to be a poorly done film (Die Hard, Speed). Bay cannot direct an interesting action sequence, and in order for the action scenes to hold any weight whatsoever, the audience has to have something invested in the characters. This movie was essentially a braindead montage of poorly edited explotions, terrible FX and Megan Fox' tits. Movie for the lowest common denominator.
Well your comment is plainly opinionated, because the 1st was one of the few adaptions that actually wasn't garbage (Dragonball Evolution) and it had plenty of positive reviews (Roger Ebert gave it 3/4*) and made millions, won plenty of awards, had a great story with character development and outstanding FX & action, the 2nd one however had more action but still had a simple story to follow but lacked the character development that had the 1st and had some flaws and excess of exaggerated jokes.
Anyway I could careless what you think about Bay 'cause for me he is an Average director, not a James Cameron replica, and since the start of his career he has been known for the excess of explosions and "EPIC action scenes" so you can't say it's a fact that he does pore when clearly it's just your opinion BTW when I saw TF2 in theaters both times almost half of the audience cried when Optimus died/revived and clapped when the credits started to roll, same with The Dark Knight...
I don't see what's the problem, 80% of the OP fans that saw the movie totally cried when he died (in my theater MOST of them cried), I guess it's because he was my Childhood Hero, so seeing him die AGAIN after such a long time (Armada/G1) made me burst into tears...Maybe that why I love this movie so much, 'cause it made me a child again...
So in resume, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was a UNDERRATED Movie that deserved more than it got, but still made millions even surpassing those of it's predecessor which is rare for a sequel since it's a cliche to say that the original is always better than the sequel. It's been quite a while since I watched the first Transformers; I don't recall any substantial character involvement though. I understand that these movies exist for the sole purpose of being big, dumb popcorn flicks, but they fail to entertain me even on that level.
You mentioned The Dark Knight--I think that's a perfect example of a good summer blockbuster, though that film has much more layers than most Hollywood action flicks. I think I'm just becoming numb to the whole vapid action deal. I haven't seen an action film that captivated me in a while (barring TDK). Also, I personally find Megan Fox to be hideous.

the Fallen was weak, Megatron was even weaker, and the military was stupidly overpowered ... keeping Decepticons at bay with machine guns? come on

I thought it was pretty bad. It was uninteresting, the acting wasn't all that special, it had far to much of the same thing, and I was already bored 1/3rd of a way through the movie.

i mean the main character decepticon had died,
leaving some witty unusual decepticon to be the leader.
so, they had to jump some shit in for the decepticons.
also, the allspark shard was eliminated, and there was like 3 quarters of the decepticons wiped out, while the autobots had a lot left, and a lot more to come
transformers 2 really was a coverup imo,
giving me a feeling that transformers 3 will be muchhh better!

This was the worst movie of the year.
The only "people" who are saying it was good are those who have not clue what is a good movie is all about.
There is no plot, no soul, no story, no good logic, never any good jokes and it is f***ing enoying!

The biggest problem with the transformers movies isn't the script. It's the freaking robots! They all look like a pile of junk. Not one of them looks cool. Why is it necessary to break them into a billion pieces? Why do all the Decipticons look like demons? And don't get me started on Devastator- what the hell was that? Thx Mr. Bay for ruining a perfectly awesome franchise.

The best part of this movie I liked was Megan Fox. But it was a bad movie for me, the story was not so good and well made, the action to fast not even good, scenes also to fast it was just about going to this place and then another place without telling the story well with pretty massive explosions thats all. The comedy wasn't even funny and the two transformer midgets were so damn annoying along with the mother who wasn't even funny. 6/10

huge didsapointment, while the action and CGI were great ( and more of Starscream, who is my favourite character), the story was silly, the script was crap, and the money could have been put to much better use. for 1 ,by making Megan Fox look like less of a bouncing slab of meat and extreme lense cleaner for the slow motion shots. 6/10 (added 2 marks for the Megatron and Starscream bickering through out)

This was a great movie, IMHO it deserves a 4/5***** arguably, even though it had some flaws and sometimes it had stupid moments like Devastator having BALLS (the 1st time I LOLed, the 2nd I thought it was stupid) but you guys have to remember that this is an ACTION FLICK, meaning it's going to focus alot more in the action, but it could've been better seeing how the 1st movie was GREAT story wise, even so this movie is now ranked as my favorite of 2009 a long with District 9 (great movie BTW!!!)

The first Transformers was just as terrible as this. Just because a film falls into the action category doesn't mean it has to be a poorly done film (Die Hard, Speed). Bay cannot direct an interesting action sequence, and in order for the action scenes to hold any weight whatsoever, the audience has to have something invested in the characters. This movie was essentially a braindead montage of poorly edited explotions, terrible FX and Megan Fox' tits. Movie for the lowest common denominator.

Well your comment is plainly opinionated, because the 1st was one of the few adaptions that actually wasn't garbage (Dragonball Evolution) and it had plenty of positive reviews (Roger Ebert gave it 3/4*) and made millions, won plenty of awards, had a great story with character development and outstanding FX & action, the 2nd one however had more action but still had a simple story to follow but lacked the character development that had the 1st and had some flaws and excess of exaggerated jokes.

Anyway I could careless what you think about Bay 'cause for me he is an Average director, not a James Cameron replica, and since the start of his career he has been known for the excess of explosions and "EPIC action scenes" so you can't say it's a fact that he does pore when clearly it's just your opinion BTW when I saw TF2 in theaters both times almost half of the audience cried when Optimus died/revived and clapped when the credits started to roll, same with The Dark Knight...

I don't see what's the problem, 80% of the OP fans that saw the movie totally cried when he died (in my theater MOST of them cried), I guess it's because he was my Childhood Hero, so seeing him die AGAIN after such a long time (Armada/G1) made me burst into tears...Maybe that why I love this movie so much, 'cause it made me a child again...

So in resume, Transformers Revenge of the Fallen was a UNDERRATED Movie that deserved more than it got, but still made millions even surpassing those of it's predecessor which is rare for a sequel since it's a cliche to say that the original is always better than the sequel. I appreciate your well articulated response. Most pro-TF2 Youtbers would have been quick to call me a "fag" for being a detractor. It's been quite a while since I watched the first Transformers; I don't recall any substantial character involvement though. I understand that these movies exist for the sole purpose of being big, dumb popcorn flicks, but they fail to entertain me even on that level.

You mentioned The Dark Knight--I think that's a perfect example of a good summer blockbuster, though that film has much more layers than most Hollywood action flicks. I think I'm just becoming numb to the whole vapid action deal. I haven't seen an action film that captivated me in a while (barring TDK). Also, I personally find Megan Fox to be hideous.

Wow, you too are the first Youtuber that didn't make a immature comeback LOL (and I've been in flame wars 3 times this week *sigh*) the "Meet the Autobots" scene introduced the Autobots in a well resumed way along with the Decepticons so that's enough for a movie, and yeah most of the movies these days ARE dumb, but I don't consider the Transformers series one of them since it really touched my childhood self. I mean they made an adaption about a animated series that barely had a solid plot!

Yeah, TDK was great, BUT it's an adaption about a series that has many plot lines to base off and plenty of characters with resumed backstory, Transformers however NEVER had a solid and coherent story, with the only plot being the War between the Autobots & Decepticons and random transformers that appear hear & there, then it's up to the writers to make up a good plot and develop the characters...

I couldn't agree more. Only difference though was that when I first watched Spiderman 3 on theaters, I thought it was ok. A little disappointing in most parts, but ok. Watched it again and I realize how awful it is. Yeah, I have a weak first impression.
Transformers 2 was just horribleto a point where I will never watch it again. There was 2 cool scenes (beginning and Prime fighting till he dies), everything else was just awful.

bay (who i love) didn't deliver on the one thing he could have ... exciting action. all the awesome fights "meant nothing" because the characters meant nothing. there was no sense of conflict.
the Fallen was weak, Megatron was even weaker, and the military was stupidly overpowered ... keeping Decepticons at bay with machine guns? come on

Black Hawk Down best movie ever.
This movie ain't the worst (Meet The Spartans) but it is FAR from the best. Any movie where you have to give a robot balls to give people laughs...come the fuck on.
It's a fail. Besides sweet action scenes and some compelling drama (optimus dying, shia lebouf and megan fox romance) other than that...its a fail.
