I think it's normal and natural for older men and women to see younger people as attractive. And if they want to act on that, it's quite okay. Sometimes younger people are into older people. As long as you are both consenting adults, why should it be a problem? I don't think it's acceptable for an older man or woman to be sleeping with a 14 year old, though.

I talk to my straight friends about older woman "deflowering" younger boys. In movies and tv, you'll see men reminiscing about when they were "initiated" by an older woman (see Six Feet Under, etc)
It is treated as mild taboo, a joke, sweet. Many of my straight friends say that if it were there 15 YO with a hot 30 YO they would be cheering them on. Put a gay man with your teen and all of a sudden it goes from cheering to getting a gun. Nether is appropriate IMO, look at the double standard!
