WOW! i knew it, right when i opened the case. the YP-T10 has an HD screen(not really HD but it shows better lighting and quality) and compared to the Ipod its like i was watching HD TV on my samsung. But to get full effect you must get a hi-res video....

This T10 is so much more fun because of all the cute animations and the touch sensitive keys ^^ honestly, the ipod is normally pretty much the same through and through and the interface is usually the same, too. White background and the highlights are blue with that same clickwheel =__=

Apple's Quality sucks big time specially they dont even have a damn warranty if they do its for a short time and guess what the Battery isnt covered....with Samsung your geting a full 1 Year warranty Parts n Labor (usually they send u a newer model or a refurbished unti) buying the extended warranty for the samsung y10 is around 15-20 bucks for 2 years and the accidential 1 at circuit city costs 24 bucks so in other words why go buy another 1 if the screen broke?

the ipod is probably not set to its highest setting for brightness. i have an ipod nano and the content looks way brighter. but i do like the samsung's interface a lot better

Another talking point is the contrast ratio of the screens, The Samsungs are better I believe.. Apple doesn't make LCD HDTV's, SAMSUNG does.
The T9 I have is outstanding, and the T10 I bought, but reviewed in store (waiting for shipment) was amazing compared to the T9.. Sound demos on the player sounded like 5.1 surround.. I assume that is the new sound processing capabilities. If you can get the T10 to work on Ubuntu, then you don't need to purchase Windows to transfer content to the player.
Samsung Studio is like iTunes but just for the Samsung products. Big problem with SMS is that for the T9 at least, it is the only way you can put videos on the player, regardless of the fact that the T9's use XVID (DIVX backwards)open source video codec. The T10's probably have the same curse. Datacasts are podcasts, the term "podcast" is trademarked by Apple.. Podcasts are just ordinary mp3 files. Samsung Media Studio only runs on Windows. iTunes runs on both. Can both be seen as USB drives?
Note, Audible is a format unto itself.. However, a lot of audio books are available for free via services available to libraries, like "recorded books" (brand) provide audio book downloads as a service to most libraries with 5 books (of any length) for every 18 days, via WMV-DRM (Windows). If you have a Mac, you won't be able to make use of this, unless you have a copy of windows on dual boot or with VM-WARE Fusion.I know the "Recorded Books" downloads work on the T9.
BTW, TXT is not a format, it is raw data format.. The suffix is provided only to distinguish the file from binary formats like WMV and MP4, etc.. A more relevant mention would be say if the T10 had read PDF files which is basically Postscript, Samsung could have done that, maybe in a firmware upgrade..
As for the iPod nano, it would be interesting if the nano's could play Flash formats, which the T10 uses flash-lite, like the T9. That's the reason for all the animations and glitzy GUI.
H.264 requires more processing power, the iPod nano would likely be taxed when trying to play it. WMV is strictly Microsoft centric, meaning you have a choice of iTunes with Apple, or everyone else with WMV. Or pick the DRM-less MPEG-4 format (video podcasts). What is not mentioned is if the T10 uses the native "svi" format, or if it doesn't require conversion upon transfer. Another concern is if it will work on linux (The T9 requires a 1.8 firmware upgrade to connect to Ubuntu).
If it is anything like the T9, you can change the video bit rate so videos can be of any length.. With a bit rate of 32Kbps for sound and 96Kbps for video (which is colectively 128Kbps), you can stuff about 25 hours of video on a YP-T9 with 2GB.. So Video/Audio duration is moot..
This was compared with nano and samsung (one of the latest mp3s out) now put a ipod touch or iphone in there i can guess the winner ipods would win both touchscreen and both have wifi internet enabled which my sister has ipod touch and i have nano and they both kick ass

well i got mine about 4 months now and its preety good! if u take really good care of it the plastice side wont scratch...well depends..if u charged it for a whole day..yes i last for 30 hrs..haha yes u should get one!!! its preety good!

Another thing you can now connect it thru the PS3 WITH ITS CURRENT FIRMWARE UPDATE (conne4ct it to the ps3 and u can Listen to instantly on your Surround sound system another option besides Bluetooth headphones

yea cept you've just lowered the sound quality for no good reason. if you are going to listen to music and you have a ps3 and mp3 player, i'm sure you have better ways to play music as well.

Apple's Quality sucks big time specially they dont even have a damn warranty if they do its for a short time and guess what the Battery isnt covered....with Samsung your geting a full 1 Year warranty Parts n Labor (usually they send u a newer model or a refurbished unti) buying the extended warranty for the samsung y10 is around 15-20 bucks for 2 years and the accidential 1 at circuit city costs 24 bucks so in other words why go buy another 1 if the screen broke?

yea didnt like the T10 because of the "sammy" feature because i found it way too kiddie like(i just found out that it can be changed from the kiddie sammy theme ) but right now i am most likely gonna get the samsung P2

samsung beats it by a long shot but im not diggin the childish layout of the samsung. im my opinion, the sansung YPP2 is the way to go cause its got a touch screen and thats just freakin awesome

You have to download the new firmware it's up to 3.03 now. In addition to the themes, the T10 can now also play games!

i own a samsung ypk5 (with fold out speakers) and i just bourght an ipod nano due to the samsung being too large and i am not impressed one bit by the ipods sound quality! >:(

I have the nano and it's got more features than they are showing u in d video and of course it's got recording's and fm u jus to to download dem on itunes and the contrast can be adjusted it's so cool it's worth and my friend go the samsung and the screen is jus frozen and even if you try to reset it it doesn't reset i find the nano is much better it's way cooler and loooooooads and loooooooads of features

the ipod is probably not set to its highest setting for brightness. i have an ipod nano and the content looks way brighter. but i do like the samsung's interface a lot better

Another talking point is the contrast ratio of the screens, The Samsungs are better I believe.. Apple doesn't make LCD HDTV's, SAMSUNG does.
The T9 I have is outstanding, and the T10 I bought, but reviewed in store (waiting for shipment) was amazing compared to the T9.. Sound demos on the player sounded like 5.1 surround.. I assume that is the new sound processing capabilities. If you can get the T10 to work on Ubuntu, then you don't need to purchase Windows to transfer content to the player.

Samsung Studio is like iTunes but just for the Samsung products. Big problem with SMS is that for the T9 at least, it is the only way you can put videos on the player, regardless of the fact that the T9's use XVID (DIVX backwards)open source video codec. The T10's probably have the same curse. Datacasts are podcasts, the term "podcast" is trademarked by Apple.. Podcasts are just ordinary mp3 files. Samsung Media Studio only runs on Windows. iTunes runs on both. Can both be seen as USB drives?

Note, Audible is a format unto itself.. However, a lot of audio books are available for free via services available to libraries, like "recorded books" (brand) provide audio book downloads as a service to most libraries with 5 books (of any length) for every 18 days, via WMV-DRM (Windows). If you have a Mac, you won't be able to make use of this, unless you have a copy of windows on dual boot or with VM-WARE Fusion.I know the "Recorded Books" downloads work on the T9.

BTW, TXT is not a format, it is raw data format.. The suffix is provided only to distinguish the file from binary formats like WMV and MP4, etc.. A more relevant mention would be say if the T10 had read PDF files which is basically Postscript, Samsung could have done that, maybe in a firmware upgrade..
As for the iPod nano, it would be interesting if the nano's could play Flash formats, which the T10 uses flash-lite, like the T9. That's the reason for all the animations and glitzy GUI.

H.264 requires more processing power, the iPod nano would likely be taxed when trying to play it. WMV is strictly Microsoft centric, meaning you have a choice of iTunes with Apple, or everyone else with WMV. Or pick the DRM-less MPEG-4 format (video podcasts). What is not mentioned is if the T10 uses the native "svi" format, or if it doesn't require conversion upon transfer. Another concern is if it will work on linux (The T9 requires a 1.8 firmware upgrade to connect to Ubuntu).

If it is anything like the T9, you can change the video bit rate so videos can be of any length.. With a bit rate of 32Kbps for sound and 96Kbps for video (which is colectively 128Kbps), you can stuff about 25 hours of video on a YP-T9 with 2GB.. So Video/Audio duration is moot..

New f/m V3.0 upgraded T10 is playing AAC files and with new GUI and games now availble. I think T10 has a good features in upgrading than ipod's.

This was compared with nano and samsung (one of the latest mp3s out) now put a ipod touch or iphone in there i can guess the winner ipods would win both touchscreen and both have wifi internet enabled which my sister has ipod touch and i have nano and they both kick ass
