Went to school with Paul. Never got to see him play though. (except at school). Hey, Paul send me a message if you see this... I was one of the cornet players in the brass band... also went to OLGC!!!
Haha! Yes, it is. Although, if you haven't already, be sure to check out the completely live performances of "Sugar Free" and "Gone" on the Arsenio Hall Show that I also have uploaded to my youtube page.
Paul Gray if you only knew how much I love you and I'm must admit I was a member of the fan club can't wait to see you in 2 weeks at the palace in melbourne Australia
Still chuckling over the pre line about the young brother loving the nee! Has anyone had any luck finding either of the CDs in he second hand spots around Melbourne? Someone shold contact Paul or Mark and see if they can burn us all copies. Miss these guys ... still blame D-Gen guys for ruining their career (heh, heh).
They relentlessly bagged them on their radio show. It was like a campaign or something. I think that probably swayed a lot of public opinion about WWN. We were still very much a pub culture in those days so a local band who sounded American and used keys the way they did had an uphill battle. D-gen were just perpetuating the bogan culture. Rather unsophisticated for a bunch of otherwise sophisticated comedian types. Still love D-gen despite it.
Wow... the Bandstand Set was kind of crappy. The set they had from 82-87 was superior to even Soul Train at that time... And (to be on topic, lol)... I did like this song more than "Sugar Free"
this song makes feel uneasy and uncomfortable like theres a gayness when ever i look back at these old 80s songs ans how i used to love this song and songs from this era
Mean Maori Mean, I've always liked this song, didn't know they were Aussie's until my bro told me when he said he saw them live one time. Choice post!!!
found this a few weeks ago this song has just kept me high since. a real turning point, that sounds 'gay', but i've really realized how beautiful the eighties was. so much positivity. i need to channel that energy
Whoever said time travel was impossible? I've just been transported back to my 9 year old dancing body...never could understand the lyrics but who cares!?
This is also going on my music list for my 60th bash in 2016 if the world is still in one piece!
