I was actually waiting to see what would happen with "Run" and he just laid back and let the instruments guide the song without him. Almost as equally impressive as Thom singing it.
Wanted him to play Creep like a cheap immitator???? NO. But he could have attempted to sing it. But I'm glad I watched this. I've often wondered who this cheap mix master wannabe was. He shoudl apologize to Radiohead.
That's a broad question. All I know is that a turntable has its place, and it aint here. If I know anything, I know that. Does that answer your question?
being that moby is known for his techno rock style i dont see anything wrong with his use of a turntable......so going back to my original statement what the fuck do you know
It's crude and lacks the refinement that this song deserves. The use of sampling is also completely inappropriate. In effect, I feel that it's a misjudgement on his part for its inclusion, and would have done well to rely on the serenity of the violins, which gives this song a wonderful balance, until its destroyed by Run DMC. Back to your original question. I know two languages, I know how to split the atom and I know that it's pretty much pointless asking someone 'What the fuck they know'.
is that why he performed at glastonbury and you never will....instead of learning stuff you'll never use like splitting an atom you should put your money where your mouth is
Performing at Glastonbury or not performing is beside the point. I've explained why I feel the turntable is inappropriate, it makes no difference whether I'm a musician or not, I'm still allowed to have my opinion. That'll do, I've lost interest in the subject now. It's been pretty much exhausted, wouldn't you say?
tears for fears also sang it better than moby almost as radiohead, who cares about tears for fears., look at right,
moby exactly knows that he cant overtune the original, but moby is a great composer, i had many of his records, and if he loves and respects radiohead for creep and likes the song so much, let him sing it. He is a genious.
word i like moby on a level of like hes trying and he does make ok music but im down for moby. hes alittle to off not wierd just off. thom is my homie at least his writing and the bands imput you know but i like how he says why he covers it gives this air to the song and other bands backstage like its a inside joke to play creep. keep in mind i dont know but its a good guess. creep by beck was cute and fun, respectful. creep by moby=newsong, respect, pdiddy style. but i dont like moby that much.
jesus guys call it a tribute, its an awesome song (by radiohead) but moby put his own twist on it, loving the dj scratching in the background! See it for what it is! x
oh god, stop fighting guys, yeah, i dont really like moby, and i think radiohead has WAY better songs than this, but its interesting to see them trying, just watch the video or...dont.

boring. why do artists/bands insist on covering the most obvious of another artist/band's music? this one's been done to death, and this version is just another nail in the coffin of creep covers.
watch again you dick. He said Thom Yorke asked everyone to cover it, so he obliged. He was the last act of the weekend and this was a brilliant way to close the festival after Radiohead headlined the night before. I was there and thought it was amazing. Its not supposed to be as good or better than Radiohead doing it.
again you stupid prick, its a tribute. its not supposed to be as good or better than Radiohead's original. I like it because i was there. The 80 000 other people who were also there (and also watched Radiohead the night before) also loved it. Stop being such a piss flap. If you hate Creep covers so much why watch them?
Again... ITS A TRIBUTE!!! haha. NOT an attempt to be as good as the original. He had never covered it before, and to my knowledge since. He responded to Yorke's request to cover the song as Radiohead didn't play it the night before. As the last song of the entire festival, i think it was a good attempt and a very fitting tribute to Radiohead, who basicallly made the festival theirs. Comparing it to the original is pointless.
perhaps it was because they are a bit tired of it. It was their launch pad to success and must have played it a million times before. I don't think they play it very often at all now.
But also, it was because they had just released 'Hail to the Theif' so much of their set were songs from that album.
I usually like the bands to change the song their covering.. changing a little bit the style to make their own touch. But i got to say I did not like it at all. Moby has great songs but this cover is really bad, I think.
in my opinion, it's a good cover by moby. The Radiohead original song is awesome but this cover sounds very well with moby's music style. No needs to sound like original version to be a good interpretation. Maybe if Radiohead cover "lift me up" will not make a good job, or maybe the Oxford's band will make a nice job.

nobody should cover radiohead. ever. ever. ever. ever.
ever.
ever.
ever.
i say that because every radiohead cover i've ever heard has been shit. and this one's no exception - creep doesn't really work as a countrytechno song, sorry.
That bloke on the turntable, what's he doing there. He's like the modern day percussionist. They feel sorry for him so they chuck him a tambourine.

Simpsonito18 2 years ago
its called interpretation.....
how many versions of a story re-told are 100% like the original???
never, it adds 'moby's' signature to the piece...
personally i'm not a fan of this cover, however the change of chord grabs the audiences attention...like it did yours...
and the chord is not wrong, the key is G.
the 3 chord in G is a Bm. theoretically a Bm is correct however radiohead use both Bm and B throughout their version of creep.
shawry41 2 years ago
sure. But in my opinion, if a chord makes you change the vocals, then the chord is wrong.

You've got to be kidding me right? No one can top Radiohead, particularly at their own songs.

korn's version is even worse!

korn and moby should stay away from sacred rock n' roll. this song means so much to so many people and he just screwed it up.

Radiohead hates this song. So Moby plays it, in a totally different way. Nothing wrong with that I'd say.

Bullshit, how the hell Radiohead let Moby to do this. Moby I love your stuff, but this is one is pretty pathetic...

nobody should cover radiohead. ever. ever. ever. ever.

i say that because every radiohead cover i've ever heard has been shit. and this one's no exception - creep doesn't really work as a countrytechno song, sorry.
