  • I did some tower work for my brother-in-law a few years ago; once you learn to trust your climbing gear, it's not bad.

  • @EdWatts Yeah, I found once I relaxed a little and accepted the gear, i was able to get the work done much quicker then when I was 1 handing it and unable to let go of both hands

  • Keep it safe... respect the height, respect the tower and all is good.. I use a full body harness, rather than the belt, been up 110ft tower that the guys needed torguing... fell down a couple of months after that in an ice storm, the owner didn't take our advise about it needing torquing.... what you see from the ground has absolutely no comparison to the views another 110ft up, even on prime hilltops... • Our college sadly frowns upon students climbing towers, so we need a licensed climber, or a very dark night to set up an HF beam. Nice scantenna!

  • Thanks again for sharing. Seeing others doing work on a tower helps me think about getting a tower of my own. If you don't mind me asking, what antenna models were up there?

  • @N2OPQ

the vert on top was a G7 I think dual bander, the Beam im not sure of, It was old and very well could have been handmade.

Actually im not sure of any of the antenna's except the G7 up top lol

  • Nice Job, I couldnt do it, age wise and hate of heights. Your Uncles a lucky guy to have a nephew that will take the time out ton help.

    Thanks from the Ham Community!!
