@militar3rd here's my situation asus told me they broke my asus g50 on theyr warranty and they couldn't fix it so they sent me an email saying that they would deliver to me an asus g60jx and than the specs.

it said it had an i7 3,75ghz processor and an nvidia gtx375 i think(one of the new ones).

@backstaberkid20 unless there sending u an upgraded G60Jx then what they told u was wrong i have a g60jx its an i5 processor with 2.26ghz and nvidia GeForce GTS360M cuda graphics card with 1GB and 500GB harddrive with 4GB DDR3 ram i have my processor overclocked to nearly 3Ghz but i would not recommend doing that unless u put some more cooling in it when i play WoW my graphics blows out a ton of heat so watch were u put ur hands

Damn my G60vx only has a T7400 @ 2.16 ghz with a 320 gb 7200 rpm hdd. I did get windows 7 64bit though. Wonder why they downgraded the cpu on mine?

I just got the G60 for $750 refurbished and I have to say, it works very well. I have only played eve online so far but runs max at 60fps. The nvidia geforce gtx 260m is a beast, produces a lot of heat but gets the job done. Love having 1 gb of dedicated video.

@bltnini I got g60vx rbbx5, and just cause 2 playing just fine on it. Not the max out setting though, I set all to medium except the texture which I set to high, and the game running around 25-40 fps at its native resolution, plus the game still looks pretty good.

They both have the same GPU. They both have different hard drive speeds and processor speeds but because the one with the slower processor has the faster 7200 rpm hdd it more or less equals out.

I own the Asus G60Vx also I thought for the longest time that I had the Asus G51Vx-RX05, but I looked at the System in Comtrol Panel and it said Asus G60Vx. Anyways I it's an okay system and all it's just the battery life is a flaw along with the processor. I wish it had come with a Core2 Quad processor. I bought mine for $1,100 at Bestbuy. And I need to know how to hook it up to my flat screen to get higher resolution. Plz help me!

@XeresKyle i dun think the processor is a flaw, well its not reasonable to have an amazing processor and awesome graph card along with all this lap offers. this is one of the best laptops around 1k in my opinion. However, the battery indeed aint very good, but you can't get everything, it can't be perfect :P. but the processor is fine i think. it doesn't suck, its just avarage. i think.

yes but you have to enable it after you've connected the HDMI cable. you need to go to your Realtek audio Manager and set the output to HDMI there should be a button that says set default device, click it and you should have audio output to the TV or whatever your connecting it to that has speakers.

I own the 16" as well, but i ran into a problem the sound only works with headphones and in the opening screen with the flaming explosion. other than that the speakers dont work. if anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it. i have reloaded the driver and did a system recovery btw

i own the 16" just as good because it runs lower res... by a little power house !!!! lite and most of all run all games on high around 30+ fps ... great get it instead of 17 ... ohhh and the smooth texture on the front is great ! no finger prints and hands dont sweat

I am using the ASUS g60vx series and it has never let me down.Plays Assassins Creed, Halo and several others with no lag at all and my gpu core clock 550mhz, mem clock 950mhz, and shader 1350mhz.I paid $1,200us for mine and can throw just about any game at it and it will run.battery life i have 2hrs on it, but from my understanding the battery life is the only flaw.if i gave the g60vx series a rating from 1-10 i would give it a 9.emulates games good

if you are talking about avp2 then you will be aple to play it at around 600 fps. i just got the g60vx RBBX05. it runs crysis on very high settings with a framerate of around 25.

Couldn't determine the video , in some reviews it's depicted as having either GTX250M or a GTX260M.

In all reviews it has 4 GB of DDR3 RAM.

Prices ranged from 1600 euro to 1900 euro.

for all other common games like CS or mmorpgs its just a joke for it.

its looking quite cool with the illuminated keyboard at night.

optimizing is key for Crysis, instead of turning all your settings to High you can turn some of them up and some of them down for Maximum performance for the graphics

What I did for Crysis is put everything to Very High accept shadows which I put to Medium. This gives me awesome performance in most cases through out the game on my G60Vx, and it still looks as beautiful as having everything on Very high, Shadows on Medium just lowers of the resolution of the shadows = better performanc

Crash History: 21 in 3 months.

No, the G60VX and the G51 are different models. I know that the US only gets the G51, but the G51 has a 15.6" screen, and the G60VX has a 16". They are planning to release a new G60VX in the US soon, the main difference being the new G60VX has DDR3 RAM instead of DDR2.

Ich bin auch seit ein paar Tagen stolzer Besitzer des Notebooks und super zufrieden! Es ist sehr leise, hat ne ordentliche Hardware und auch das Display gefällt mir sehr (subjektiv besser als mein BenQ FP93G X).

Zum Akku: Im Ilde lief es bei mir 140min (0% Bildschirmhelligkeit, Prozessor etc runtergetaktet mit Asus Software) bis der Akku leer war. Nach einer 40-minütigen DvD (60% Helligkeit) war der Akku noch zu 59% voll, also ist ein ganzer Spielfilm kaum möglich.

Aber sonst super Notebook!

Also die Auflösung vom G60 ist Top, zum Arbeiten und zocken reicht es locker aus, außerdem hat man ja die Option, einen externen Monitor dranzuhängen...die Auflösung vom G71gx ist auch OK. Muss man eben alles mal live gesehen haben. Leistungstechnisch nehmen sich die Geräte fast nichts, wie man sieht. Gruß
