sorry,bra...but ALL the bass players out there today LEARNED FROM Mr. Clarke. Dont say "better"...how about "different". Ive been playing bass semi-pro for the last 30 or so yrs and I was about 14 when I got my copy of "School Days"...blew me away. Stanlet brought the bass out front. NOONE ELSE BEFORE HIM. Stanley is the Godfather of bass,my friend.

I think flea is overrated

But i love his playing myself, alot of people dont realize just how good he is, if you want to see, you would have to listen to some live recordings, instead of studio ones,

flea is actually more melodic than slappy poppy

I've always strongly disliked Flea's RCHP playing. But I recently bought an albun by The Joshua Redman Band where the bass work is doubled between him and Meshell Ndegeocello, and everything is SO f-ing groovy

well i love his RHCP playing, but he really doesnt showcase it as much on the albums, he instead plays what goes, and does just enough to sound good with the rest of the band,'
