  • Richie Evans has been voted into the Nascar Hall of Fame 2012.

  • Great video. Older than the 70-71. Late 60's my guess. That was Geoff Bodines first valiant.

  • @dboucher2008 It was not taken in the 60's. I shot the film, and also have Geoff on the pole at Langhorne in the Valiant 1970.

    G.B. ran a Coupe #99 in 1969 at Pocono.

  • I had heard that my Dad's old modified, the red #5, had been destroyed in a wreck at Pocono . The first consi shows that wreck. At least the history of that car is complete. Thanks for saving a video from the great era in modified racing. Tom

  • Does anyone know the year? I'm thinking 1970 or 1971.

  • 1971, This was my first trip to Pocono (actually 2 trips, since I went for the rain out and then returned.) I didn't know it was filmed. Pretty neat stuff.

  • Endless fields of modifieds legends from all over the country, yeah those were the good ol'days of Modified racing. There was so many drivers and cars but also so many tracks to go to spend a great Saturday night at the races. My father took us at Trenton N.J. in 1976 for the last RoC held there and watching those great videos kind of brings me back to this golden era that I was lucky enough to live as a kid. Thanks a whole bunch for sharing such great stuff.

  • Also, back in the days when "Modifieds" were actually production cars heavily modified for short track racing, not those IndyCar rip-offs passed on as "Modifieds".

  • great stuff thats modified racing back when it was fun

  • MORE---I think the Blue 50 car was Dennis Geroux--got hurt bad at Stafford in 75.

  • #01 was driven by a young Ron Bouchard at this event.

  • Wow..Thanks for that info...He was another great Modified driver..I wasn't aware he was already racing..That was great racing those years those cars.
