This album has to be one of the ten greatest albums ever made--it is absolutely fantastic! It has that rare quality i call 'just enough'--the perfect blend of music and musicians, songs and singer, heart and soul--everything, touched with the divine. Wow.
The greatest performance of one of the greatest songs ever written (by a very young 20 something year old Billy Strayhorn). Yes marchowlegs. Yes MegaGiggzy. Yes funkman0811. Yes.
This has to be the definative version of this incredible song. Ive listened to it a thousand times ( at least) and it still chokes me up every time, wonderful.
I whoeheartedly agree with the previous commenters. It is an extraordinary record, an absolute all-time killer, the same being particularly true for this singular version of "Lush Life".
This masterpiece of rich baritone voice of Hartman and the masterfull tenor or coltrane and the lush brush work of Jones and Garrisons Deep mellow of Bass , whether your a Jazz affectionado or not ,.It will captivate your heart and slip you into a world of smoky bar and feel its presance
Perhaps the best jazz song ever written, with harmonies decades ahead of its time (1930s) and lyrics unsurpassed with their internal rhyming, natural cadence, word choices and overall mood, and impeccable performances by Trane and "The Voice That Is." They leave me breathless...
I have this on record, found mint for $3 in 1994 in a Phoenix, AZ used bookstore, along with Miles Davis Kind of Blue and some other records. The owner was like, WTF, you found these here?! He was bummed they had been marked so cheap, but hey, I was a good customer so he sold them to me.
Everything about this song is top notch and smooth. Lyrics, music, musicians. Thank you for sharing this.

Coltrane and Hartman were matched by God to bring some reality and sanity to the world.
