@adamXshumaker Have you heard of the Water Tower Bucket Boys? They play a different genre of music called old time or alt-country or, most aptly, Americana. They're from Portland, too. I used to go to the Farmer's Market in the south Park Blocks near the Portland Art Museum and see them play. They're kick ass! Check them out here on YouTube. Look for 'Big Eyed Rabbit'. They're way better live, too.
I am 60 years old. I believe that I have most of their recordings, even this one, bought some 25 years ago. They were amazing ... how I like to sing along with them in my car or in my office. benedictowilsonporto@gmail.com
One of the best Sons of the Pioneers albums. This was recorded in 1959 years after Bob Nolan retired. Tommy Doss is on this album and he sounds very much like Bob Nolan.
I'm only 25, but I live in Arizona, and since I was a kid I listened to oldies of all sorts and took loooong family trips to see all the wonders of the west. Today, it breaks my heart to see my niece and nephew make faces and call this music "weird". Whats happening to todays generations? I could just cry.
Great memories attached to this version of the song. Thanks much for posting it instead of one of the lesser covers. Now if I could just find a post of Empty Saddles from this album...
The romance of the old West is long with-standing. The Sons of the Pioneers truly take me back to a time of desert moons, strumming guitars and open campfires.
I still got this album in vinyl, and in great shape , considering its 50 years old, yeh Im a real cowboy , still working the ranch , now just a range detective , in Roswell NM USA . . .
Absolutely beautiful. I have a slightly different version of this on an RCA album called Cowboy Classic. (It's not the same one you can currently buy online.)
I have this one like new condition to

Love this song. There are several versions by the Pioneers as the group changed over the years. It was featured in a Roy Rogers movie in 1942.

Anyone that digs this song should check out the excellent cover of it. On the rocking album "Panamericana." The band is "Las Rubias Del Norte"
They also do, "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" on their first record.
