Wow this is awesome not to be a sonic know it all but the model needs some work. And that would be really awesome if you could have like a story mode but I think its a bit early to think of that but still great work! :D

Just a reminder, the game is far from perfect. I stopped working on the blender version (which is the version I uploaded) at the end of 2008 in favor for a new engine - the Aurora GE. I've been working on the Aurora GE ever since. Once I finish the Aurora GE, I will port the game to the new engine (hopefully, by summer of 2011). Any other suggestions are welcomed.

hey there, just a question if it's alright, how'd you get the homing attack working? i absolutely fail with python, can't even get my head around the idea of it, so if i come across as a bit of a noob...you'd be getting the right impression, but i've tried a LOT at gettin similar results with just logic blocks...and it didn't really work, any advice?

I've been working on two different versions of the game. The blender version uses .blend files to save model data. The Aurora version uses my own file format called .auc files to save model data.

I think that Sonic runs way too fast at the beginning of his walk. He needs to walk, then jog, then gain speed. Also, you might want to decrease his speed. It's way too fast for the player too control.

All the models and textures have been made from scratch. The only thing about the game that has "legal issues", is the character(s) copyrights themselves.

However, Sega is one of the few companies that "turns a blind eye" when it comes to fan games. Matter a fact, Sega has even promoted a few fan games in the past.

I didn't work on this level the whole time, but I can see why you would say that. There was very little progress between Dec 2007 - May 2008. Between that time, I was either too busy or simply working on other projects.

Most of the work I did get done though, was either in programming or new C++ features. But like you said, there is still a great deal of work to be done.

If your computer is more than 6-7 years old, it may have a hard time running the game. I myself use a 6 year old computer. If it's running slow here are a few tips:

- Close all running programs besides the game.

- use the default window size (640X480). Do not use full screen.

- update your graphics drivers.

Remember that Sonic Action runs off of OpenGL. The better your computer runs OpenGL, the better it will run the game.

Besides what's been already suggested, if it still runs slow, you could by a new graphics card. There are some really nice cards for $40. A $40 graphics card could make the game run up to 4X faster than the integrated chips that Microsoft puts in the computer by default. If you get a good card ($100) you can make the game run up to 10X faster.
