  • The effects were really annoying. =/ Other than the over edit, it was sick! You get a lot of height for the speed that you throw your handsprings. Like somebody else said, stretch them out a little more and it will give you more of a backwhip rotation which makes it a tad bit easier.

  • a couple tips: for a 2 1/2, you have to push it forward. for a triple, you have to push back A LITTLE, but not too much. i see you're also opening up to early. you need more power, so explode down the mat and run as fast as you can, and you should get it

  • You need to get a different mind set about this...going from 2 1/2 to a triple is much different. You need to set completely differently. It's gotta go STRAIGHT UP and nothing else. You leaning back to much with your set and it's causing you to flip too fast. Fix that, and you will have your triple.

  • i think you just need to snap ur back handspring a little faster and set harder... but your technique is awesome. im jealous :)

  • to help its your flip flop stop the camera as you finish and go to the rebound your standign straight up that will only work on double fulls when you want triples and quads you wanna angle your feet farther back bc the more twisiting your do creates way more flip so you have to control the flip and plus by angling ur feet back more you will rebound higher if you run harder into it

  • I think you need to get your feet down on your BHS a little faster..when you put the video in slow-mo as you did You can see your arms are not pulled in as close to your body as they should be..also pull them more to the side of your body instead of the center. Other than that I think your form was nice

  • nah man it's actually way easier to do a full once you get the double. Although since i do this full faster now i tend to pike the landing

  • when he takes off from the floor rather than the small blue slope he lands them-so he should work on getting into the right place XD

  • everything looks fine execept theres a little to much power put into the backflip. if you slow down the backflip a little bit youll have more time to spin. and easily get that triple down.

  • yea listen to gercian...shes right about the speed and leghthening og the b-handspring...but also keep your head in as u twist...that way your body twists as a unit and u will have a more sense of where u are.

  • true on the head bit..but thats to be expected when still working on the skill..as far as the wrap goes i think it varies a bit cuz i wrap at my sides when i twist..depends on the comfort of the person

  • What it looks like to me is that your leg form is suberb but the handspring is slow. If you can speed that up and stretch it out just a bit more you will be able to get the height you need to complete the last 1/2

  • I am wondering if there is something wrong with the end of the back-handspring/beginning of the set. You look a little arched during your set, and that could cause troubles.

    I am no expert, but could that be part of the problem?

  • You know, you're punching off the weakest part of the floor. Have you tried this on the tumble track? Your rotation is just beautiful (form-wise), but you're not getting enough block (watch how low you are after the second twist relative to where you took off from). You're losing about 4-6 inches of height by doing this off the side. How is it on the tumbling portion of the floor? Got any video of that? I'm interested to see how it's progressed.

  • twist is really clean, but you need to set more and then wrap.  You are twisting too soon.

  • I don't think he's twisting too soon EVERY time, though. Most of the tries are set fine, it's the block he's lacking. Again, though, very beautiful twist.

  • yer for christ sake get ur tumbling lower and more power then keep ur head in, arms up, corbet set the layout then wrap the fuck out of it and your twisting is plenty fast enough to pull it round

  • Awesome.. triples are so tricky to me.. I have good and bad days w/them. lol. I agree about the post on opening the width of your arms. I tumble like that a lot. Good job

  • 2)if you watch your video again - you're pushing your head back through the layout, thus creating a) a faster rotation of the layout b) throwing your head out of alignment with the layout hurting the rotational spin. The more twists, the less creation of the layout is needed. In gym terms, the 'hollow body' will start to tighten the more you work the twist.

  • 1) As a comment to the back handspring - not sure if your coach has ever had you open the width between your hands -- it drive's your shoulders into the floor thus creating a lower angle of attack out of the back handspring (Chinese gymnasts do this all the time) - could make all the difference.

  • i'm surprised no one has said this. you need to stretch out your flip flop more and set out of your flip flop. all you're doing now is RO FF...blah. once you stretch out your flip flop a lot more and set you'll have it in the bag.

  • lol yeah the first time i worked on triple fulls was awhile ago and i tried a 2 1/2 and then tried a double and landed on my back...fortunatly we have a pit so i just fixed my twisting in the pit
