when was the last time you seen a soldier repatriated on the news? not since it has moved to Oxford, ask yourself why? the goverment are hiding the facts, hence the public have gone quiet on what is happening to our troops and they don't have to face the difficult questions!
You see all these horrible things in the news and hear and see how british culture and respect is falling apart, Then you see things like this and it makes you proud.
If I lived anywhere near Wooten I'd pay my respects also.
@JohnSmithTheSecond If possible please remove Osomy's comments. Unfortunately, because you responded to him his comments are displayed directly under your video and I feel they take away from it.
I would die defending my country, but not in some oil/foreign war, we did not learn the lesson one hundred years ago when my granddad was serving in Afghanistan, so if youre addicted to battlefield/mw2 , go get your balls blown of playing soldier boy, But why should I pay for your disability then ?
@Arakl10 so basically your contradicting yourself!!! you would fight for your country but you wouldnt in some foreign war? im confused a war involving a different country seeing as thats the bases of a war would obviously be foreign then you fucking moron! and how your grandad served in afghan is almost impossible seeing as the second anglo-afghan war ended in 1880!!!
Anne Nikitin is listed in the credits as composer and I agree with the earlier comment that the music is quite moving and beautiful. I hope she won the British version of the emmy as well as other honors this film is due. As a Yank I want to thank you for uploading this allowing us across the sea to view it...it is very important...as an educator I hope to share this with my students during memorial and veterans day...god bless Royal Wootton Bassett and the lovely people sharing their hearts.
There's not much right in the world today, but Wooten Basset got it right, and showed that rare spirit that emanates from the human spirit. Thank you my homeland. Ex Aussie Sapper...
@Currie01 this film is a tribute to fallen heroes.....if you have nothing nice to say then take you disrespectful comment elsewhere. people like my father fight to keep people safe.........unfortunately that includes people like you who lack respect
@Currie01 man service personnel are in fct religious people. that is the reason why the have service padres. my point is that it was disrespectful of you to post a comment like that on a video like this. completely inappropriate. take it elsewhere to a video agaist the armed forces.
I used to live near RAF Brize and if they come out the main gate, it goes straight onto a main road and onto the dual carridgeway, so it wouldn't be the same as Bassett, unless they come out the other gate and it will go through carterton.
I remember before it even got onto the news and online people were complaining that Britain didn't show any respect to the coffins coming back, so I mentioned about a small town near RAF Lyneham where we always stand by the road to show respect, and then everybody caught on about it.
i live a stones throw from wootten bassett and it is heart renching seeing the coffins wrapped in union flags driving past but its now time to move on and let the soldiers and their families go to a purpose built place for the occasion. dont slag the government off if you do not know the full facts,it just makes you look sad and pathetic.
RAF Lyneham was only meant to be used as a temporary place for repatriations while brize norton was going through regeneration works. the work has been completed after 4 years and the repatriations will go back to brize norton.brize norton has purpose built facilities now in place for families for the occasion. people that shout the government down and slag them off saying they want to hide repatriciations are deluded people. i live a stones throw from wootten bassett and
life lost dont worry mate i can assure you the vetrans assocations, and the royal british legion riders branch will go wherever we have to pay our respects so wherever the route goes we will be
@ANYONE3041937kyc There's no official answer, but that is probably the answer. There have been newspaper reports about the government wanting to 'hide' the repatriations from the public, and I even read a headline saying they would drive them through the back alleys to avoid the city centres. I'm not sure how much of that is legitimate, but it still quite a tragic problem and politics seems to always get in the way of the lives of our Soldiers. Such a shame.
Woottton Bassett be proud of yourselves,British armed forces, fallen & living be proud of yourselves.Bbc pe proud of yourselves,a truly remarkable programme. You people are what keeps BRITAIN GREAT, i salute you all. THANK YOU.
Thank you for this video. I am in US & my family in UK all cried their way through this.We were the grateful recipients of Wootton Bassett's incredible care & support on a day we never want to repeat . My own recollections are vaque but the overwhelming sense of compassion was inspiring . Thank you WB for honouring my son's return to the country he died for.
Love & prayers to Aarons family how courageous to make this programme xxxx

Even the British legion denounced the wars , and the reason for them when they accepted Blaires money from his book. Patriotism is never returned!!!!

@JohnSmithTheSecond Why did that happen? Are Government Officials afraid that it's going to cause criticism about the war?
