The fact is...there is minimal Nirvana in this song. If you listen to "Debaser" off of The Pixies' 'Doolittle"...it's all right there. While Nirvana were great in their own right, it's only after shaking their (admitted) Pixies debt that they became so good.

There are many people comparing CtE to Nirvana; some of their inspiration and one of their favorites bands was Nirvana. I think that the inspiration for this song was Kurt Cobain's life and death. He was born in Aberdeen, WA. Also if you read Kurt's suicide note, there is some references to being burned ("you burn me once again") he also gives up ("White flag! x3")
