So, parents had as many children as possible in order to work the land and grow up to contribute to the family labor force; producing and harvesting food and other necessities for survival. There was no welfare state or social security system for retirement so the only retirement option to take care of you in your old age was to have as many children to grow to maturity as possible.

So what you're saying is there are no Mugabe supporters there. Many of the homeless, suffering people in this video supported Mugabe when he wanted the whites off the farms. The zanu PF supporters were the first ones running across the border seeking food and jobs in SA when it all went bad. After they realised they wernt going to eat after chasing the white man, they went seeking refuge. I wont feel sorry for people who have brought this on themselves. Yes the MDC supporters have been intimidated and harrased but dont think for one minute they wernt there when the land grab was going on
