Uh, no. 03/04 Cobras were underrated from the factory. They "say" 390 hp, but people were putting down about 370-380 to the wheels, stock. They are 111-113 cars, stock.  They weigh easily 300 pounds less than the GXP, and make about the same power. It makes sense.

My car wasn't tuned for this race. It was stock as a rock. 4100ish pound "family sedan." lol, and yes, you're right, Ford's Jesus-made 03/04 Cobra could only muster up a car or 2 on it.

Yes the G8 GXP has the LS3 415 HP/TQ. and the only gear ratio is 2.92

I had an 04 Cobra and I currently have an 09 G8 GXP. I have headers, CAI and a tune and I still think the Cobra is about as fast stock as my car is now. The GXP is a TANK. But, it's fun to drive.

If this is the Pontiac G8 GXP (2008), Isn't it supposed to have a Corvette-derived 415-hp 6.2-liter LS3 V-8?

If compared to the Cobra's 4.6 390-hp V-8, then yes, P\/\//\/3D.

It also weighs 4000 pounds vs. the Cobra that is around 3700. Most Cobra's were under-rated from the factory as well.

The mustang is much lighter with the same power. Apples and Oranges. 4 door GXP 41,000 lbs vs. 36,000lbs 2 door mustang. The mustang does sound cool with the wine of the super charger

'98stand' is correct. 3,665lbs / 3,780lbs convertible. Usually around 415hp @ the flywheel stock. 07+ Cobras are 3,920lbs/4,040. I've heard ever 100lbs could make a tenth of a second difference in quarter mile. Not sure how true that is. But I know the GT500 is a tank. With me mine wieghs about 4,100lbs even! compare that to 3,132lbs of a 2-seat corvette Z06!

I like the G8. 400+hp 4-door family car; God bless America =)

gt500 weighs 3900+ pounds. a 03-04 cobra weighs 3675-3800 depending on options. 97 c5 6-speed weighs 3125 and has 355hp runs high 12s and faster
