When Umar bin Abdul Aziz became Calipha he returned Fadak to Imam Muhammad Al-Baqir but then the calipha's that followed overturned this ruling. Imam Ali and Hassan never got the land of fadak back to pass it on, but they knew it was Fatima's, and her children were the rightful inheritor's afterward's!
