just a lil tidbit for everyone, right after hicksville or bethpage theres a track that splits off from the ronkonkoma branch that heads in the direction of the babylon branch and connects with it, enabling a 2 train a day service from hicksville to patchogue via the diesel train at 1:30 am and 5:27 pm. and you have one at 7:57 am from hicksville to jamaica from the montauk branch.
Between Babylon and Bethpage, there is no third rail but if this train was a diesel, it would have most likely come from the Babylon direction. You're comment above this one is also right [on my last comment, I meant to say Westbound]. Sorry if I said it in a mean way to you.

That train actually is going southbound to Penn Station. But it either came from Huntington or Ronkonkoma
