She's gay or bi... No really. She is. The creators may have just wanted her to seem weird, but her development and overall detachment from the main cast except for Taiga whom she marshmallow hugs frequently due to Taiga's height.

At the very least, it's a case of If Its You Its Okay regarding Taiga. The confession to Ryuuji is shoehorned, but plausible as he'd been chasing her so much.

I feel like at the end she doesn't really know who she's more upset about losing... and that sucks. ;-;

I actually think she is a lesbian, or at least bisexual. I mean, honestly, her confession to Ryuuji didn't seem too natural. It seemed forced. It's as though she resigned herself to like him since she knows she can never get Taiga. It's sort of weird when the character evolves on their own and the creators change them for convenience (i.e. Minori turns out to be gayer than they wanted and they make her like Ryuuji in the end for safety's sake).

When that happens I feel that you should just let your character continue to progress naturally and not force them to take a voice that isn't theirs because it wasn't how you expected them to be.

I think she is. Her character developed independently of the rest of the storyline. Which is why her confession to Ryuuji seemed so unnatural and actually like it was just stuffed in. I think the creators realised in the end that Minori might love Taiga more than she cares for Ryuuji, but they didn't want a lesbian character, so they just destroyed her character development and made it so that she liked Ryuuji instead. It would have been so much more... normal, actually, if she was gay.
