The charger was about 4000 grand ..the Hemi was an $800 dollar option ..the 440/6 was way cheaper and could hang with the Hemi in stop light drags however anything further than a stop light and the Hemi would walk away from the 440. ..so with that in mind most people went with the 440..there where about 82 Hemi chargers that year..
I had one, it was a lime green with the dark green vinyl roof. I must say it was some what unusual/different. I really liked it.
It was set off with some very shiny Cragar SS chrome wheels, not white walls. Not nearly as fast as the earlier MOPARS, but still nice. Wish I had it now.
Funniest sh!t ever. The fact that whitewalls, wheel covers and a vinyl roof were considered fantastical selling points is hilarious. Gotta love the pause for effect before the "special vinyl roof".

Comparing prices, we bought it used in 1975, 4 years old. It had 22,000 miles one owner for a grand total of $1200.00 out the door.
Hell a good set of tires cost that much today ! As people say " it was the good old days ".

@kimbalxyz the 1971 charger 426 hemi had about 436 hp, and was lighter and more aerodynamic than other earlier mopars.
