@zankaa1 You have to rename the original soundfont whatever you want, put it in a folder or somewhere (if you don't want it, dispose of it), then you must rename the downloaded soundfont "soundset3.sf2". Hope this helps.

I have had the midi version to Galaxy Man finished a while ago, but I'm unsure how people will feel if I uploaded it using MP sounds but not in a Mario Paint interface. (you can load soundfonts in FL Studio, if you were wondering)

@SatoshiLyish If you made a MIDI, it would be more worth your effort to use FL Studio plug-ins 'n stuff then the Mario Paint Soundfont.

BTW, I'm making an epic Castlevania medley with Mario Paint, mixing this soundfont and the Hard Rock Soundfont.

This is nice but can you make an orchestra similar to cat333pokemon? His links don`t work. I like your soundfonts but you don`t have a normal-octave piano (just a low one =/) It would be excellent to have BOTH. And the dog, cat and baby sounds are pretty useless and would function better as instruments (if the baby was a sweet choir sound that would be awesome). If I could make my own soundfonts I WOULD but I have a mac and I researched it already. Not gonna happen. :(

Also, the shyguy is better as strings then a baritone sax (or whatever that was). The strings bring the atmosphere, I wouldn`t leave those out.

For those who don`t get it: simple English:

1. BEFORE you download this open your Mario Paint Composer folder and rename rename your current soundset3.sf2 file in the MPC folder to something else, like "default.sf2".

2. download this.

3. Open the folder and rename the new file to "soundset3.sf2" and drag it into your Mario Paint Composer folder.

I would try to either redownload the zip (as its probably corrupt), or try a different zipping software. I use 7-zip if you were curious.

The way that you nailed the "sugar Pum Fairy Dance" by Tchaikovsky (or however you spell his name) was pretty good there, SatoshiLysh. It almost sounded like a real orchestra, aside from the cat, dog, and Yoshi sounds. Might I suggest altering them and put some boats and some mushrooms in their place instead? You would know where to put them better than myself but you will get my drift, okay? I hope that it can be done right, too.

Unfortunately I don't use Viena but another program called Awave Studio, and I'm unsure of Viena's interface. There is a tutorial by Delaythepickup called "How to Make your Own SoundFont for Mario Paint Composer", so you might want to check out his videos.

I have an important suggestion. Make the high Bflat note from all lower octave (like Dog to Flower) the real way it should sound like. The low Bflat isn't affected by other notes of the same instruments (it'll keep playing even if there's another note, including the low A glitches). It's really annoying if you have to use BFlats from the lower octave (two of my projects are already affected by this :P)

I know its an annoying glitch, but it isn't the soundfont's fault. you can work around it by placing another Bflat note after but at a lower volume, which would essentially turn it off. Look at my Kraid video as an example.

Thanks for the new orchestra set! I just posted my X-Files theme, made with MPC v2.0. It's in video responses if you wanna check it out. Had a little trouble with the Mario flute when placing the high C#, so I had to compensate. Maybe you can work on that if you get time. But thanks again! :D

I regret to inform you that the following five instruments are off tune:

- Cat

- Swan

- Piranha Plant

- Shy Guys

- Boo

They have made a few useful improvements in MPC V.2. Personally, I don't find them too useful, but they are useful to some extent.

hmm...I think I just got an explanation.

The star sound starts at a higher tuned pitch and gradually lowers into tune. At the higher sample rates this isn't an issue, but since the sound is being played 4X-8X slower than normal with the "Boo" sound it doesn't get the chance to align itself as readily, so it ends up being offtune. Hope that explains it for you..I'm working on the cats/swans as we speak :/

I'm still unsure about changing the heart..for right now I've been working on Mario Paint Plus standard set, since I found some bugs, and noticed that in the default soundset for MPC, the Mushrooms and Boats don't match the original Mario Paint.

Gah, a glitch that I've known about for a long time now but keep being reminded of. Its a glitch with MPC and has nothing to do with the soundset. I get around it by placing the same note and lowering the volume...see my Kraid v2 video for more details.

which planes? in 1.0 or 1.0e? I know I increased the volume a bit for some of the lower octave sounds, so they could be used as a driving bassline (similar to the heart)..perhaps I shouldn't do that and leave the volume alone?
