Awesome video.

Quake 3 is still my favorite arcade, sci-fi, close combat shooter.

It was also the first online multiplayer game I ever played, my older brother downloaded the Beta when it initially came out.

Considering how little game play has changed in the last decade I'd say Quake 3 was ahead of it's time.

Nowadays it gets boring quickly though. My interest has shifted towards shooters with more depth or novelty. Eg. vehicles, intricate teamwork, building, strategy.

@juankarloselmasiso ya just that quake live is a tiny piece of shit with no mods, physic vriations, maps, or anything else whatsoever, compared to q3 :). its a shame qlive came out and ruined the thousands of q3 servers. I gotta play qlive now lol, and defrag, the trickjumping mod that will live forever :D

agreed, q3a is the best first person shooter game ever made. However it really wasn't meant to be a single player game - it was intended to be a multiplayer game. The most popular 1v1 game is a 15 min deathmatch, q3dm17, dm7, dm6, tourney2, tourney4 were the most popular maps.
