  • when pete rock plays his beats, rappers listen with silence, and hear what his tracks tell us

  • this is the kind of song that brings me closer to god

  • I love how Flying just follow Smoking room only on this album... 420 represent

  • this was set to home page for a little while

  • I can have this loop on repeat for days, maybe weeks and its still not boring

  • Ed O.G.- shed a tear

  • the camp lo blend to this beat is crazy (called sky high)

  • not bad for views but im willing to bet wacka flocka flame got over a million views on a beat he uses HOW SAD THESE PEOPLE'S MINDS ARE TODAY

  • 213 - lonely girl

    Edo g - shed a tear

  • This is what i need every day. some relaxed beats. Nice one!

  • The people posting that nonsense about Pete Rock > Dilla and vice vesra are totally missing the point. They were on the same team. They BOTH admitted that they inspired each other, they were kindred spirits. If you prefer one over the other then that's just your bias, not some quantifiable fact. So knock that dumb shit off.

  • @neffone77 word

  • @neffone77 word. Ma Dukes even chose Pete to master Dilla's 'Jay $tay paid'. cohorts. although Dilla's my personal fave, you can't knock Pete's catalouge. endless classics.

  • eargasms and brain tingles

  • @ThaGod420 and causes the hairs on ur back and neck to stand up

  • Sooo, why are we argueing about who's better? They are both great guys in the genre. This is what I miss a lot in rap today; unity.

  • pete rock > j dilla

of course, dilla is good artist too

  • @jjasm2 lol nah. dilla is really good. I still cant decide which one of them should take 1st place. but one thing i do know is.....PRIMO SUCKS!!

  • @tag1989 Thats just plain ignorance to say Premier sucks

  • @FreQuency206 ok, well he dosent suck but... I would rank him 5th. alchemist beats him :)

  • @tag1989 Have you ever heard of Kno from Cunninlynguists, hes a genius behind the boards. Some of the chillest beats and BRILLIANT samples

  • @FreQuency206 NAh i havent. il have a look into it.

  • cerebral cortex dwindling, my last joint getting low, hollow thoughts following, whereever petes beats go, haunting me, twisting me, stagnating feelin me?? death in cold pause, no end or beginning...a following crisp denial of the why, music's death impowers those who have begun to decline....

    SOOOO GOOOOOOOD PETEY!!!!

  • i really dig this ^^

  • Brand new/ feelin great/ like a baby with a clean slate/ no hate/ one love/ is God watchin from above? / to create wats real and beloved/ when I was a kid I use to dream of/ all beautiful people sellin their souls to the sequel/ they realize that this paradise wasnt equal/ cuz stereotypical males were told to prevail/ I once knew a kid who read Braille/ who told me to live long and live strong/ cuz life is so frail.
  • Kudos

  • showbiz is mad good producer too

  • BAMF

  • ah what beautifal music.

    aaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

oh my god i just hit another car!

    ha ha!

  • Boom bip boom bip boom bip boom boom bip.

  • The Petestrumentals series needs to become a trilogy. Would be sickk.

  • real hip hop is the instrumental and the beat alone.

  • Pete Rock Is A True Legend. He Brings Energy, Strength & Power In His Music.

This Track Is A Good Example. Just Listen.

  • listen, is wat we are here to do.

  • Yep, When It Comes To Real Hip Hop, No Doubt.

  • everything PR touches turns to gold. Musical midas touch. my biggest inspiration.

  • this is under a 9th wonder track called basement. someone help me out.

  • i new this sounded really familiar

  • they had a collabo.

  • Pete Rock makes the best beats, no doubt. He tries to record almost every sample himself so he gets exactly the sound he wants, and he comes up with the goods every single time.

Sometimes they're the most basic of rhythms, but they move your soul like nothing else can. Pete Rock is the man.

  • no one can deny pete rock, true artist wit this shyt

  • pete rock always an inspiration

  • dig deep on this one

only then/ will souls creep towards this one/

click the link for this one/ on this particular beat/ i think of the particular street/ where my family sleeps/ and how these fools creep/ to release the heat/ on other straight lows/they must not know/ the bullets they throw/ fly right by- my window/ nothing to do/ but wait it through/ dont even know if my familys cool / just in case you thought you knew/just what l.a can do/ just dropped a clue/ props to the heemhead crew

  • musical dope.

  • Comment removed

  • Masterpiece!

  • i think pete rock is my favorite beat maker over 9th wonder , jdilla, and premier... this may change next week tho

  • Soo True

  • You hit that spot on, especially with those producers.

I mean 1st im praising one the most and saying "yeah, hes def the best"...then "OH WAIT...wait a minute".

i just want a list of EVERY beat created by Pete Rock, Premo, Madlib, 9th, andf Dilla, and have it on shuffle ALL day/night long. and others like Reflection Eternal, Foreign Exchange, Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots and all the rest can be thrown in too.

HoldUp..thats what an iPod is for, why the hell havent i done that lately?

  • This would be dope if he dropped another instrumental album!!

  • this sounds so Dilla

  • guess who dilla's main inspiration was :P

  • omg, hit the nail on the head.

  • haha

  • @immasuperninja was he really? ya they sound so much similar so sick marco polo and da beatminerz are also great producers both signed with duckdown

  • @delltardboy yes he really was, when dilla met pete rock the first thing he said was '' i was tryin to be like you" or somethin like that i'm not jokin

  • @immasuperninja Dude. i know Exactly what your talking about.

  • @immasuperninja there's just one thing:

pete doesnt mess with non-quantized hihats. dilla did!

  • @snowdjagha pete and dilla sound totally different to me. not even close.

  • @snowdjagha so dilla's hats are all hand layed? uuuh, that takes like 2 seconds anyway...

  • @joshraye they sound like it!

  • @immasuperninja pete

  • @immasuperninja I agree that Pete was an inspiration for Dilla but Dilla and him went different styles and sound nothing alike. Two great producers with much different styles. Like comparing 2Pac & Big, Bird & Magic, Kobe & Shaq, Big L & Big Pun. Both are absolute legends but both have much different styles and sounds about their music.

  • @kanyewestpowerman So your saying Dilla doesnt have bass heavy smooth soul vibes? Yeah its his style, but you can here PR influence. Like in early 9th beats, you can hear Dilla influence. Later on he developed his trademark style. And his style is what alot of todays up and coming producers are influenced by. Its a generation thing.

  • @XcavatorBeats *hear*

  • U should hear it when they were playing it in the basement. Pete Rock, 9th Wonder and Phonte were there. Phonte freestyled on it and killed it

  • priceless

  • pure.

  • from mount vernon - to money earnin - i keep the ladies yearnin - got a thing for latinas - from 175th all the way out to medina - in brooklyn - front and get ya body tooken - or taken - in the land of the forsaken - the forgotten - try not to let my soul become rotten - but there's no stoppin when you fallin down the slope - into the East River - sub zero it make ya body shiver and quiver - i deliver

  • yo cuz this is some weed journey trip shit man.. its cool as hell

  • Love it! Imagine a good video concept.A kid walking through the park in NY or walking along a river and suddenly a sail boat appears out of no where to take him on a journey through a magical space in time.He is like transcended into heaven looking over wonders never seen before.

  • uh yeah haha, lets just keep it for our ears to enjoy

  • i was thnking more like a cold day and the little boys breath as he breathes tells the story im rapping as the world slows to a halt with the songs end

  • this background thang with that "uuuuuuhhh" aint that from "lonely girl"?
